On June 2nd, we had a working fire on a commercial property in Muhlenberg Twp in the 5300 block of Allentown Pike. Chief 66 was on scene with a working fuel fed fire with fire extending into a 1 1/2 story building. Eventually there was a slight explosion. Members were told to evac the structure and go with defensive operations. We went in service with foam and finally got the fire under control. Great work by all on the fire scene. A special shout out to Wal-Mart for donating some bottled water to the members working on the scene. Pics provided by Fire Photographer Tony Miccicke

Pennsylvania's Move Over Law requiring drivers to safely merge away from an emergency response area takes effect on April 27, according to PennDOT. Drivers who cannot move over safely must slow to at least 20 mph less than the posted speed limit. PennDOT defines an emergency response area as one "where an emergency vehicle has its lights flashing, or where road crews or emergency responders have lighted flares, posted signs, or try to warn travelers."... https://www.penndot.gov//T/Pages/Move-Over,-Slow-Down.aspx

As winter weather approaches please be sure to keep a clear path to all fire hydrants in your neighborhood. As responders it is paramount that we have all the tools to complete the job, and the fire hydrant is one of our most critical pieces to assure that the job can be done. To all those we serve, please stay safe and warm throughout the storm and the rest of the winter season. Thank you all for your continued support!
