Young kids stepping up and laying the foundation for their future in supporting the community around them. These are our future volunteers.
The lemonade is great! Supporting the cause is even better. Alex's Lemonade stand Southview Lane, Buckingham.
Listening to Chief Goldfeder interviewing Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Sabrina Cohen-Hatton of the West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service in the United Kingdom. She just made a comparison that I’ve not heard before about the variety of tools in a toolbox and then contrasted that to the need for variety in the toolbox of people in an organization. Midway VFC is always looking for people with diverse skill sets to assist us. Do you have an interest? We would be happy to explore how your skills could help serve our community. Drop us a comment or a message here on Facebook or go to our website for more information, we look forward to seeing you.
Engine 15 will be there! Happy to support our next generation of volunteers who step up and lead by their example.
Interested in how volunteer firefighters from across the world are meeting the challenge? Listen in today!
Photos from Upper Makefield Volunteer Fire Company on Friday’s fire with Lingohocken Fire Company. Good views of the Fold-a-Tanks that we use in a shuttle operation. The two shown hold a combined 7,000 gallons. Tankers dump as quickly as they can and get the wheels rolling to go get another load. It’s a balance between how much water we are flowing vs how quickly the tanker can deliver it. On this call 12 tankers shuttled between the fire and four different fill sites. Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company noted that their tanker logged about 150 miles during the shuttle.
Do you have an interest but don't know enough? Unsure about walking in the door unannounced? This info session is designed to answer your questions and to develop a program where you can investigate the opportunity to serve the community before making a full commitment. Try us on, see if we are a good fit!

On this Memorial Day please remember those who have served and sacrificed on behalf of our nation and others. They exemplify the scripture "Whom shall I send, ...and who will go for us?" They set aside their personal liberties and said "Here I am, send me". Each day at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is memorial day for the Sentinels that stand the eternal vigil. 24-hrs a day they stand watch over a families loved one, keeping the watch and ensuring that they rest in peace. To all of the Gold Star families, our brothers and sisters in arms, and the American people...thank you for entrusting us with this mission...we will not falter as we keep constant vigil as this national shrine and watch over our family. Soldiers never die until they are forgotten, Tomb Guards never forget.
Friday night saw Engines 5 & 15, Field 5, Ladder 5 & Tanker 5 working on this stubborn mulch fire that with the high winds was so much more than just a pile of mulch! Our thanks to Ivyland Fire-Company, who covered our station with Engine 62 and took in a brush call in our coverage area on Stony Hill Road.
It's not personal, but we don't want to come see you! Have a fire safe Christmas.
Midway VFC would like to thank everyone who gathered along our routes for the 2020 Santa Tour. We hope that it brought you as much joy as it does for us. Seeing smiling faces young and old along the way adds to the esprit de corps of our organization and reminds us yet again of the value of what we do for our community. May you and all of yours remain healthy and safe in this most unique of years and may 2021 bring you health, happiness and love. Included are photos that you all shared along the way.

Wishing everyone a Happy Hanukkah. May your lights burn bright this holiday! (As always, have a fire safe holiday, be safe with candles and decorations.)
So, how long does a Santa Run last? For starters, this moderator calls it a Santa Tour- Santa Claus is like 1,000 years old and he’s out of shape. Santa definitely does not run! On Sunday we will update both routes here on Facebook so that you can follow along and make sure to catch us along the way. We start at noon and depending on our speed we end between 4:00 and 5:00.
Santa is making his list and checking it twice. We will post routes this Saturday and we hope to see you on the 20th!
This afternoon MVFC crews will put tire chains on our trucks to ensure that we can get to you in an emergency during the coming snow storm. Please do your part to protect your home and neighbors, head for the nearest hydrant and clear the snow so that we have a water source to fight a fire in your neighborhood.
Live trees are selling in record numbers as people strive to make this season a little more special. Make sure to water your tree and follow these tips for a fire safe holiday.
Santa is coming to town, Be fire safe this Christmas.
