She's a pretty lady, and he's a handsome fella! I'm so glad they spend so much time here! :) <3 Scarlet and Rhett <3
I didn't see Rhett or Scarlet for several days and began wondering where they'd gone. Today, my timing was perfect as I stepped into my bathroom and saw Rhett p...erched in a sumac. I dashed into the kitchen to grab the Nikon, watched him poke around on the ground beneath the feeder, then take off and fly to the right and out of sight. I leaned out the bathroom window and saw Scarlet and Rhett both sitting on the fence. Next thing I knew, our handsome Romeo made his move! During mating season, the male cardinal will feed his partner, and that's exactly what I saw within yards of where I dangled out the window! Perfect timing! :) <3 <3 God and my cardinals smiled on me, this evening ...
I kept getting disappointed after many trips to Merli-Sarnoski Park in search of eagles. I sat. I searched. I waited. The eagles who regularly hunt there after ...their young are on their own seemed to be hiding from me. I'd spent a couple hours up there, amusing myself by trying to catch photos of the wood ducks who also are allergic to my searches while they feed and frolic in the bog. I had things at home to take care of. The ducks were being camera shy. I was getting frustrated and decided to call it a day. As I shifted my car into reverse to back out of my special parking spot (yes, I have one of those. Actually two. Don't tell anyone, though. ;) ) someone stopped along the road and just sat there. I waited. I started getting annoyed that this guy didn't see my backup lights and drive on. Something was holding his interest in the bog, and I decided to back up and leave. As the car rolled backward, I spotted what had inspired the man to linger. There in the bog, on a small patch of earth in the mucky pond was this eagle. An eagle! A creature I'd been praying would come along and allow me some photos since well before the last snow flakes flew. It had been FAR too long before my timing allowed me to admire the hunting eagles, and thank God for that man whose hesitation had originally annoyed the hell out of me!
Passionate about pond lilies; especially the pink ones, at Takach's Grove, this morning.
Still stewing over the goose thing, my heart wasn't in a trip to Merli today. Instead, I visited with dragonflies at Lake Ladore in Waymart. I grabbed some decent inflight and reflections shots. The Nikon is still impressing me. ;)

Any day you see a barn, some cows, and wildflowers is a good day! <3

There were a few monarchs feeding on the wildflowers lining the banks of Mud Pond Lake. One of them actually flew over to me, and danced around me as if to greet me and make me feel welcome. He did. :) <3
God's country. God's nature. Beauty. Serenity. <3
This butterfly enjoyed this wildflower bush along the shore of Lake Ladore for well over an hour. I enjoyed standing and admiring him through the viewfinder until I just needed to tumble back into the car and fire up the air conditioning. God smiles on me, sometimes. :) <3
