150 unaccompanied, migrant children from the US Mexican border recently arrived in Erie for temporary shelter. @gannon.iha and @gannon_honors are currently collecting donations for these children. Collection bins are located around campus, and @nashlibrarygu is proud to home two of those bins. Swipe for more info on how you can help! #gannonfamily

Reading Rainbow was a half hour educational children’s show that aired on PBS from 1983-2009. The show was written, produced, and hosted by LeVar Burton. Each show featured a children’s book being read, followed by a deep dive by Mr. Burton exploring the places and things featured in that week’s book. Mr. Burton is often credited for igniting a lifelong love a reading in many people. Have a young person in your life? Nash has almost 1,200 children’s books in our lower lev...el collection! It’s a safe and fun way to show them the world. Take a look, it’s in a book #blackhistory #blackhistorymonth @readingrainbow @levar.burton

Today, we celebrate the first day of Black History Month along with American poet Langston Hughes’ birthday. Best known as a leader of the Harlem Renaissance and an innovator of jazz poetry, Hughes completed nearly 60 literary works in his lifetime. His literary legacy includes books of poetry, novels, short stories, non-fiction, plays, and children’s books. @nashlibrarygu has nearly 30 of these titles in our collection. #blackhistorymonth
