After much review and discussion the NFVFD has made the decision that we will suspend all activities and fundraising events until further notice. This decision... is being made in response of the current COVID-19 situation. We must keep our volunteers, their families, and community as safe as possible. We will be reviewing this decision weekly in hopes of opening. We ask that you understand and support our decision. Question please call or text the event # 717.753.1152. Stay safe and well. Please, see the message below from Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Billy Wishard. _____ It is with deep regret we must announce the passing of... Robert J. Monn also known as "Bobby" from Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department on 11/01/2020. Bobby has been a long time, well known, well respected, active volunteer firefighter for many years in our department and we are going to honor him and pay respect to his family on this day. We are planning to honor his life in the best way we know how on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Each department is being asked to participate in this memorial service with as many of your members as you wish. Apparatus is a must. Per the families wishes the service will take place at the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department carnival grounds outside to accommodate a large quantity of people and due to Covid 19 restrictions. If you decide to participate, we are asking all apparatus to arrive at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA at 9:00 am and no later then 9:30 am to prepare for the procession to the carnival grounds. Upon arrival, apparatus will be utilizing the parking lot, Falling Spring Road and Willow Street to stage their apparatus. At Geisel Funeral Home, you may view fire department personnel transferring Bobby from the funeral home to the fire apparatus. The procession will move promptly at 10:20 am. The procession will travel Falling Spring Road to Route 30 East towards Fayetteville, onto West Main Street Fayetteville to the carnival grounds. Upon arrival at the carnival grounds, you will be directed by personnel where to park your apparatus. You will also be directed where to stage your personnel prior to the 11 amFamily visitation allotted time. (The plan is that all personnel will stand in formation inline around the tent.) Upon arrival, please do not freelance. Please follow detailed instructions on where formation is. The family will receive visitation from 11 am to 12 noon. At 12 noon the funeral service will begin. It will last approximately an hour. If you plan to attend and bring a piece of apparatus, please email [email protected] Please note in email what piece of apparatus you are bringing. Deadline is Friday, November 6th at 1800 hrs. The family is requesting no flowers to be sent. Food and beverages will be served after the service. If available, we are also in need of assistance of volunteers to help carrying out the plans requested by the family. Please include in your email (above noted) of how many willing volunteers. From the Monn Family and the Members of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, we thank you for joining us in honoring Bobby Monn.
