The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated annually on April 28 to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. It is an awareness-raising campaign intended to focus international attention on the magnitude of the problem and on how promoting and creating a safety and health culture can help reduce the number of work-related deaths and injuries. In 2003, the International Labour Organization (ILO), began to observe World Day in order to stress the prevention of accidents and diseases at work, capitalizing on the ILO's traditional strengths of tripartism and social dialogue. #PAForward #HealthLiteracy #WorkSafe #worldwhsday #shwday #safetyfirst

Join Us in This Local History Project: Share Your Pandemic Experiences - Please join us in documenting the COVID-19 pandemic and how it is affecting our community in New Castle and surrounding areas. We would like you to share your experiences with this pandemic so that we may preserve your memories as part of our local history. Stop by our library to write down your thoughts on our easel located on the first floor of the library right inside the side entrance, or write them down anonymously and place them in our deposit box next to the easel.
