New Hanover Township Police Department 22.01.2021

Merry Christmas from your Christmas Eve crew here at NHPD! We wish you the very best this holiday season. Although this year may look and feel different, we hope you are safe and warm and you are able to spend this special time with the ones you love, whatever that may look like. Happy Holidays!!

It was a bittersweet day for us here in New Hanover. After almost 37 years of service Sergeant William Moyer had his last ride to work today, flanked by every member of the New Hanover Township Police Department as well as several officers from surrounding departments and several members of the New Hanover Township Board of Supervisors and our Township Manager. As of December 25, 2020 he will be officially retired, though he is not quite done with public service as he will remain the Chief of the New Hanover Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company. Sarge, you went the distance. We thank you for your leadership and guidance over the years and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Our first (Virtual) Coffee with a Cop on 12/14/20 was a success! We plan on doing more so stay tuned for details. Moving forward, we are also looking for feedback regarding when the best day of the week and time would be to hold future meetings. For example, would Fridays at 9 am work better for everybody or some other time? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!

We hope to see you at 4! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please join us on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 4 pm for our first ever (Virtual) Coffee with a Cop, hosted by Corporal Dekkar Dyas of the NHPD via the Zoom app. This is your opportunity to chat with Corporal Dyas about traffic or crime concerns, general questions about law enforcement, or simply to talk about whatever you want. We do ask, however, that you keep it PG since there may be kids listening in. This event is open to everyone. If you are interested, please send Corporal Dyas an email at [email protected] and he will send you the meeting invite. If you do not have camera or microphone capabilities through your computer or mobile device there should be an option to call in using a standard phone once you receive the invite.
