We are honored to have been awarded grants which has allowed us to provide Bareville Fire Company with 4 brand new AED’s. In addition to the AED’s, in the past month our instructors have taught Bareville volunteers CPR, First Aid, & stop the bleed classes. We are thankful for their dedication to the community and assisting us on critical calls such as cardiac arrests, persons struck, and vehicle accidents. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Officer Wendell Metzler’s family as well as the The family in blue at New Holland Police Department & West Earl Township Police Department following a courageous fight with cancer. Wendall dedicated a significant part of his life to serving the communities of Brownstown, West Earl, Leola, Upper Leacock, & New Holland over the years in many roles as a EMT, Fire chief, & Police Officer. RIP

One of the common questions we are asked is, "When can I turn my child from rear facing to forward facing?" Here is the answer to that question! Pennsylvania’s Occupant Protection Law for Children All children from birth to age 4 must be secured in a car seat anywhere in the vehicle.... Children younger than age 2 must be secured rear-facing, until they outgrow the maximum weight and height of the car seat. All children 4 years of age and older, but less than 8 years, must be secured in a seat belt and an appropriate booster seat anywhere in the vehicle. All children 8 years of age and older, but less than 18 years of age, must be secured in a seat belt system anywhere in the vehicle. All drivers are responsible for securing children in the appropriate car seat, booster seat, or seat belt. We offer car seat installation and inspections by appointment!
