Ready, set, ride! Staff training is underway this week as full-time and summer staff come together to learn more about one another, review safety procedures, share time in God's Word, train for activities, finish getting facilities ready for campers, and more. So far this week, staff have worked on devotions fitting the summer theme of Mt. Zion (Sermon on the Mount), trained in classic camp activities such as the Zip Wire and Sky Swing, tested out the new mountain bike trail, worked with horses, done several projects around camp, and enjoyed a day at Shawnee State Park.

Meet Isabella Gordon serving on Adventure staff this summer Where is she from? Stephens City, VA... Where is she studying? I finished my senior year of high school this spring and am planning to take a few online college courses this fall. What does she enjoy for fun? Swimming, kayaking, hiking, crafting and dancing. What she is looking forward to this summer: I am looking forward to spending time getting to know campers and sharing my love for God and enjoyment of the outdoors with the Adventure Camp campers.

Due to some churches having to cancel their Fall retreats because they are still dealing with Covid-19 issues, we now have openings for weekend retreats. Meet Joseph Hoyman, guy staff at Adventure Camp this summer 1. Where you are from? I started life in the mountains near Bedford PA but, soon after I was born, my dad went active duty with the military. My family moved around until I was twelve at which point, we moved back to Bedford. We have stayed here for the last seven years and I now live at another Christian Conference Center just down the road from New Life.... 2. What and where you are studying in school? I am studying mechanical engineering at Cedarville University in Ohio. 3. What you enjoy for fun? I enjoy Hiking, Martial Arts, and just generally being active. For more relaxing activities I read and talk with my family and friends. 4. What you are looking forward to this summer? I am looking forward to experiencing God’s Creation in so many different ways, whether that be biking, or canoeing, or hiking. I am excited to see how God will work to both grow the campers and the councilors through both the devotions but also through just daily experiences on the trail.
