Bold, courageous, and caring are just a few words that one might use to describe the late, Rev. Dr. Cleo Myricks. Born in Cleveland, OH, Rev. Myricks has impac...ted many with a spirit infused with love, joy, and laughter, and a ministry of music that spanned across generations. She faithfully served at Robert Street Church of God (now Arlington Church of God) for 44 years in the music ministry. Over the years, her church choirs recorded several albums of gospel music and hymns which were widely distributed throughout the Church of God. A true globetrotter, Rev. Myricks was sought after for her reputation of excellence in praise and worship and traveled throughout the United States and ministered abroad in over 20 nations. Rev. Myricks loved the National Association of the Church of God so much so that at the age of 94, she wrote her final song, entitled Come to West Middlesex. She energetically led in praise and worship at almost every national and international gathering in the Church of God. She received her Bachelor of Arts (1968) and master's degrees (1972) from Akron University and was the recipient of an honorary Doctor of Sacred Music Degree from Anderson University in 2007. In 2010, she was formally recognized as a "National Treasure of the Church of God" by Church of God Ministries (Anderson, Indiana) and the National Association also awarded her the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was to be presented at the 2020 camp meeting. Rev. Myricks was also an avid soul winner committed to seeing gospel musicians realize their full potential for the Lord.Rev.
