*** Increasing Fire Danger Monday and Tuesday *** Fire danger will increase across the region Monday afternoon as relative humidity values drop into the low... to mid 20 percent range and northwest winds gust 25 to 30 mph at times. This combination of low humidity, warming temperatures, and gusty northwest winds will produce favorable conditions for wildfires to ignite and spread Monday afternoon into early evening. On Tuesday, relative humidity values will again fall into the mid 20 percent range across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Northwest winds will be slightly weaker Tuesday, with gusts of 20 to 25 mph at times. Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential ignition source, including machinery, cigarettes, and matches. Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly. For more information about wildfire danger, burn restriction, and wildfire prevention and education, please visit your state forestry or environmental protection website. See more

Why did you join? - Matt made me! 2. What Positions have you held? - Chief Engineer and assistant engineer 3. What are some of your hobbies? - Hunting and going for drives with his girlfriend Anna. Please join us in thanking him for all he does!! Tune in next Monday for the next Member Spotlight!!!

From Schaefferstown EMS It saddens us to learn of the passing of former EMT Floyd Horst. Floyd served with Schaefferstown EMS for a number of years and would always bring that smile of his, no matter where we went. Beyond his service to Schaefferstown EMS as an EMT, the block work and masonry that built our current station, was the product of his labor (and his crew of course). Our thoughts are with the Horst Family. We'll miss you Floyd! Our thoughts are with Schaefferstown Ambulance and the Horst Family.

Wearing a mask is not hard. Breathing on a ventilator is. COVID-19 cases are rising fast across the United States, and if we don’t act together NOW and do what ...we can to slow the spread, thousands more could die. Stay home when possible. If you go out, be sure to: Wear a mask over your mouth AND nose. Stay at least 6 feet apart from people who do not live in your household and avoid crowds. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Get the facts: https://bit.ly/3bGvO6p.
We say Thank-You to all our Veterans!!!
Check out PennDOT's Yellow Dot program! In a car accident, it is critical to get as much information as possible from patients as quickly as possible (especially if the patient has a severe or complicated medical history). This program is a way to ensure that medical history can be found on board your car in case you are unable to answer our questions! https://www.penndot.gov/TravelInPA/pages/yellow-dot.aspx
A crew with the ambulance will be attending!! Remember to social distance and wear a mask!
Our thoughts and prayers with our brothers and sisters at the Reading City Fire Dept. and the Lerch Family during this difficult time.
