Newton Recreation Center 28.06.2021

The Newton Recreation is excited to announce that it is currently reopened on a limited basis. Due to the current pandemic, the Recreation Center has updated some of its policies and procedures to comply with CDC guidelines and government regulations to ensure as safe of an environment as possible for all. Our hours of operation will be as follows through the end of May: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 4:00pm 7:30pm... Saturdays: 10:30a 3:30p. We will potentially be offering summer hours this year as well. Our volleyball/pickleball pograms will continue to be suspended. Currently, we are unable to offer open gym times or walk ins. Our gym will only be available for use with an advance rental. The rate will be $45 for 1.5 hours of use. This amount of time cannot be adjusted. To reserve the gym, please call the recreation center at 570-586-7808 or email [email protected]. Birthday party rentals will be restricted to Saturdays from 12 3pm at a rate of $135 for exclusive use of the gym and community room. Upon entering the building, your temperature will be checked and we ask that you please use the sanitizer available to you upon entrance and dismissal from the gym. We also ask that masks be worn throughout the building and our common areas. Please bring your own sports equipment to use in the gym. Bathroom use will be restricted to the Men’s Room (closest to the gym) while we are open. Our staff will be working hard to ensure that touch points and the restroom are sanitized between parties. We look forward to opening our doors again in a safe manner.

As a reminder, the dumpster at the rec center is not for public use. We have had a few instances over the last year with members of the public dumping personal trash into the bins. Please be mindful and help us take care of our outdoor spaces!
