The following is an article from Decision Magazine, published by Billy Graham organization. When God Doesn't Meet Our Expectations Our son Andrew was held hostage in a Turkish prison for two years. The first year he was blindsided. He had been teaching new converts about the fatherhood of God and suddenly, God didn’t seem very father-like. Andrew had expected that when he had to suffer, God would give comfort and a sense of His presence. But God stood back and, as with Job, a...Continue reading

Who Are You Following Zephaniah 2:3 - Seek the Lord. All you humble of the earth who have carried out His ordinances; seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger. In Chapter one, God said that He would remove man and beast, the birds from the sky, and the fish from the sea. God was going to punish the people of Israel for turning their backs on Him. But for those who continued to follow God, Zephaniah was telling them to contin...ue to be faithful. By staying faithful and following and obeying God, they would be protected from God's anger. Are you following your ways, or God's ways? Are you doing what you want, or what God wants based on His word, the Bible? Continue to follow God's word, to seek righteousness, and be humble. God will protect you. God Bless

Several years ago I was blessed to have the time and desire to write devotions. I just discovered that I wrote over a thousand devotionals. Instead of just letting them sit on my computer, I have decided to share them with you on our Cowboy Church Facebook page. I hope you enjoy them, and feel free to comment. Below is the first of what I will be sharing. God Bless Give Willingly 1 Chronicles 29:9 Then the people rejoiced because they had offered so willingly, for they made... their offering to the Lord with a whole heart, and King David also rejoiced greatly. King David wanted to build a temple for God. But, God had other plans. God was going to have David's son, Solomon build the temple. What God did allow for David to do was to do all the preparations and financing of the project. King David graciously and generously gave of his wealth to build the temple. In turn, the people also gave. David and the people gave with the right attitude. They put God first by willingly giving to God's work. As 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, we too should give as our heart directs, to give freely, for God loves a cheerful giver. God Bless

"Life is like flowing water. Knee deep in a river and dying of thirst." - Kathy Mattea Sometimes life feel like we are knee deep, and dying of thirst. But what does God's Word tell us? Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he wo comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst." - ... John 6:35 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'" - John 7:38 Life can and will be tough, but if we seek Jesus for help, He is there.
