https://www.marketwatch.com//how-to-make-retirement-romant You could spend one third of your life in your retirement years. That’s exciting and merits some good planning, which gets me excited about what I do with my clients. A scarier thought is that HALF of your time with your spouse could be DURING your retirement years. Your only halfway there when you retire. Yikes! It was one thing when you were working and busy with the kids. It’s totally another thing when i...t’s primarily you and your spouse 24x7. It might be scary, but it COULD be really good. But it takes work, and it takes planning. This article gets the heart of the impact of retirement on the relationship with your spouse. It’s loaded with practical thoughts and suggestions including fun ones (having an activity jar) to serious ones ( a set of questions that every couple heading into retirement should be talking about with each other). It’s never too early to do the work of developing this key relationship in your life.
This is a quick and easy read that reflects why I am doing what I'm doing and why planning is best done BEFORE you retire. https://tribunecontentagency.com//retirement-a-smooth-shi/
If your parents are still alive, encourage them to do something like this. My mother-in-law just passed away and we wanted her to do something like this and she never got around to it. The easiest way to do this is to take a video of your parent answering some questions with your phone (or having your kids do a video of you with their phone). Just ask questions of things you might want to know. I did this with my mom and dad. It was priceless. I have some suggested questions to ask if you need some. PM me, I'd be please to give them to you. https://www.kiplinger.com//t021-c000-s004-pass-along-life-

The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step... Les Brown Where in your life do you need to take that fearful first step?
