Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest teacher, Ms. Colleen Welch Leonard, and her daughter Vivienne! Ms. Colleen is our Lead Teacher in the Primary Classroom as of November 9, 2020. Teaching has been her lifelong dream and she brings with her nearly a decade of preschool and kindergarten teaching experience. We are thrilled to have such a qualified, experienced, and passionate teacher join the New Horizons Montessori Academy family!

Lynda is a pioneer of New Horizon Montessori Academy, joining the school faculty when it was founded in 2013. Alongside Mrs. Rashida, she has played a major role in making the school a success by developing a nurturing culture based on Montessori pedagogy, designing and implementing curriculum, and establishing new programs. With more than 30 years’ experience as a Montessori educator, she is dedicated to creating suitable environments for children to grow and thrive. ... Lynda trained at the Princeton Center for Teacher Education and is AMS Certified from Birth to 3-year old by the American Montessori Society. She resides in beautiful Chester County with her best friend and husband of 41 years, John. They have four sons and four granddaughters.

Deepa Padhy is currently working as an assistant teacher in the Primary class at New Horizons Montessori Academy. She enjoys her time immensely working with the children and supporting them with their learning and developmental needs. She has been engaged at New Horizon Montessori for over 2 years. Deepa has completed her Masters in Biotechnology. Outside of her work she enjoys reading fictional books, traveling and spending time with her 2 lovely kids.

Ms. Mithua Chaudhuri has been with New Horizon Montessori Academy since September 2017 as an Assistant Teacher. She moved to the US almost a decade back. Her positive and lovable demeanor makes her instantly connect with the children and with the people around her. A graduate in International Relations and an MBA in Marketing Management, Mithua previously held the position of regional marketing manager at a reputed multinational organization. ... Mithua currently lives in Downingtown, along with her husband and her teenage daughter. In her spare time, she loves painting and traveling.

Ms. Yelda has been Primary Lead Teacher at NHMA since February 2019. She previously worked as a Primary Lead Teacher at another Montessori School in the area for 11 years. She loves being involved in the children’s first learning experiences and watching them grow. She says I treasure the natural learning process that occurs in the Montessori classroom. I love watching children learning through their own experiences and interests. ... Ms. Yelda holds a BS degree in Business Administration and worked at Karmersan back in Adana/Turkey before she relocated to the United States. Ms. Yelda received early childhood Montessori credentials at MITE, Delaware in 2008. She is looking forward to her 12th year teaching in Montessori classroom.

Lekshmi Krishna has been working at New Horizons Montessori Academy since the last 8 months. She is currently working with 2 to 3 year olds. Lekshmi enjoys every aspect of teaching and has realized that children can teach us as much as we teach them. Lekshmi has a master’s degree in business administration. She has decided to make early learning her life’s work because she believes there is nothing more valuable than a child’s education. To her, knowledge is power and the e...arlier it begins the better it is for the child. Lekshmi is very proud of her little ones, and she is extremely happy to be given the opportunity to watch them learn and grow.

Padmaja (Ms. Paddy) is a Montessori certified teacher from the North American Montessori Center (NAMC), trained for the age group of 2 to 6 year olds. She has one year of experience in teaching Montessori School. Ms. Paddy was introduced to Montessori when she took care of her nephews and her son who were, at the time, going to Montessori school, and she developed an interest in its methods which later turned into a passion for teaching Montessori students. Ms. Paddy enjoys spending time with children, and her family. She is also active in community and charity events.

Saryu began at New Horizon Montessori Academy as a full-time teacher in September 2019, prior to which she has spent three years teaching in a Montessori classroom. Saryu holds a Master’s Degree in Early Education and a Montessori Primary Certification from Chestnut Hill College. She previously worked as a dentist in India before moving to the US in 2003.... Saryu currently lives in West Chester, along with her husband, 8-year-old daughter and their new puppy. Outside of work, Saryu’s interests include traveling and spending time with her family.

Gwen will be in her fourth year at New Horizons Montessori Academy. She has extensive experience working in Montessori Schools and child care. Since 2004 she has worked at day care/learning centers as an assistant and head teacher. Gwen has also worked through all of her college life in the child care/education field. Gwen attended Immaculate University for early childhood education. She obtained her early childhood education diploma in December of 2015, and is Montessori cer...tified with an American International Montessori teaching Diploma. Some of her interests outside of school are traveling to new places, exercising, reading, listening to music, and most of all spending time with her son.
