In an article posted by NAR (National Association of Realtors) NOTE: 1 in 3 renters can afford a typical home in their area. "These ultra-low rates (talking about home mortgage rates from 9/17/20) significantly decrease the borrowing cost for homebuyers. Since the beginning of the year, mortgage rates dropped more than 80 basis points. As a result, the qualifying income to buy a starter home drops by 10% to nearly $43,000. Meanwhile, the monthly mortgage payment drops by $100. Because of the lower borrowing cost, homebuying activity has already ramped up to higher than pre-pandemic levels. Many homebuyers can jump into the real estate market since 1 of 3 renters can afford to buy the typical home today.

Home Tip of the Week Check your smoke detectors Most people have them placed incorrectly in the home. National Fire Prevention Association says: The National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) states that the best location for a smoke detector is on the ceiling near a doorway or stairway. As a fire burns, the smoke rises and seeks easiest route of escape. You should also have a smoke detector on the hallway ceiling outside of sleeping areas (bedrooms)," thus alerting you at the earliest moment. Stay safe!

God Bless all the families who remember this day with tears. Thank you all the front line emergency workers who tirelessly gave all of themselves during the wreckage. Thank you to all who raised funds over the years to help all who endured the pain of this horrid event. It should be taught to our children, so they can know what a wonderful nation we live in. When this horrid act took place, everyone opened their hearts and doors to help strangers seeking refuge and comfort. Volunteers from all over came to help sort through the wreckage. Emergency workers rushed toward burning towers in hopes to save just one more life. America really is one of the best places to live, and the people who live here every day are what make it so. Almost 20 years ago, and yet I can still remember it like it was yesterday.
