NLMK participated in the Adopt-a-Family holiday program facilitated by The Salvation Army. It is a unique program for families who have experienced a devastating tragedy or crisis during the past year. The employees of NLMK PA generously donated almost $2,000! With this money we were able to provide gifts, clothes and food gift cards for the entire family. As a sponsor, we gain the wonderful feeling of knowing that we significantly helped make this family’s holiday brighter. A big thank you to everyone involved!

This year, Farrell’s food drive donation totaled 2646.26 pounds, which equals 4.23 pounds per employee. This more than doubled their collection from last year! Jam the Van at the Farrell location was a huge success thanks to all who volunteered and contributed! We are pleased to announce that overall NLMK USA collected 5929.76 pounds of food this year to distribute to the following charities: Salvation Army, Joshua’s Haven, Penn State Food Pantry, and Portage Food Pantry. This number is up from the 5,435.8 pounds collected in 2018. Way to go, team!

Our steel is manufactured and utilized in a vast variety of products, functions, and processes. On Friday, November 8, 2019, NLMK PA uncovered yet another use when they donated two steel lockers to the Lawrence County, Pennsylvania Sheriff’s office in order for local detectives to use them to store crime scene evidence! Our engineers on staff personally designed the lockers using provided specifications and the lockers were fabricated in our Central Maintenance Fab Shop located in Farrell, PA. Each heavy-duty locker weighed in at approximately 400 pounds and had the dimensions of 82 H x 36 W x 24 D. The project took over a year to complete. Detectives with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office were very grateful for the donation and offered a sincere thank you to all NLMK staff members who were involved in the project.

Last week, NLMK welcomed Whole Life Services, Inc. on-site for a tour. They were given a brief explanation on the inner workings of the plant and took a tour throughout the facility! A special thank you to everyone involved with the event! #nlmkteam

NLMK held the annual Halloween Trick-or Treat on Friday, October 25th. We want to thank all employees who participated in the festive event! #HappyHalloween #nlmkteam

For the Social Responsibility Committee at NLMK Pennsylvania, 2019 is the second year at the Relay for Life. A total of $4,687 was raised this year. The team feels that it’s a way for NLMK to give back to our community and also support those in our community who are affected by cancer. A BIG thank you goes to all those who supported and participated in this effort! #nlmkteam #nlmksocialresponsibility

You are invited to the Relay for Life in Greenville, PA this coming Saturday, July 13th! Come for a visit of stay for the day check out the NLMK tent! The NLMK Social Responsibility team will have a lemonade stand and a duck/shark pool with various prizes. This year’s theme is a movie theme. The team have selected Jaws, in the spirit of taking a bite out of cancer! ... Some of the day’s activities include: Opening Ceremony 9AM Survivor Celebration 11AM Butterfly Release 4PM Luminaria Ceremony 9PM Food, Entertainment & Children’s Activities All Day Long
