More sad news from the world of independent pharmacy. Earlier this week Leonard's pharmacy announced it's closing. After serving the Scranton community for over 100 years, the PBM "mafia" has pushed another good one out. For those of you not familiar with PBM's (pharmacy benefit managers), these third party entities manipulate drug pricing and reimbursement to pharmacies. They have been undercutting and under-reimbursing for years, all while recording record profits each ...year. This madness MUST stop!!! Please contact your local legislators and make your voice heard. YOU should have a choice as to where you get your prescriptions filled!!! And all independent pharmacies deserve fair reimbursement!!! From all of us at Nockley Family Pharmacy, we thank the staff at Leonard's Pharmacy (and all independent pharmacies) for serving your patients as part of our own families. In order to comply with Governor Wolf's request we will only be offering curbside service and home delivery. I would like to take a moment to thank each and every one of my customers for a wonderful year! It's hard to believe that a whole year has gone by. Changing any part of one's life/routine is quite the imposition which is why I'm so thankful and appreciative you've all followed me here.
