We are saddened to announce the death of Neva C. Ward, who went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2020. She passed peacefully in Meyersdale, PA at Rest Assured Living Center. She was surrounded by love in her last days with her family and the devoted staff at Rest Assured and Three Rivers Hospice. She was born August 1, 1937 in Titusville, PA to Otis T. We are saddened to announce the death of Donald C. Copeland, age 85, of Pleasantville, PA, died on Friday, November 6, 2020 at his home in Pleasantville (Harmony Twp., Forest County). He was born March 9, 1935 in Allegheny Twp., Venango County (near Pleasantville, PA), son of the late Raymond B. and Esther Rosella (Cummins) Copeland. On May 28, 1966 in Pleasantville at the Shamburg Christian Church of God he married Beverly Dale Copeland, who survives. Don gradua...ted from Tionesta High School in 1952 where he played Basketball. Over the course of his life he was employed by several companies including as a welder for Struthers Wells of Titusville, PA; General Electric of Erie, PA; Raynor Garage Door of Pittsburgh, PA; and as a well tender for Eagle Line of Pleasantville, where he retired from in 1991. Don served faithfully as a director on the Forest Area School Board for several years. He enjoyed reading, and loved to hunt. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Raymond C. Copeland of Pleasantville and his girlfriend Edie. Two daughters, Regina K. Smith and her husband Terry of East Canton, Ohio. Ruth Sauerland and her husband James SR., of Titusville. Three grandsons. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Duane Copeland, and a sister Elizabeth Zambie. McKeel, Sr., age 66, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Lowber, PA, who died on Saturday evening, October 31, 2020 at Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Oil City, PA. He was born in Greensburg, PA on January 8, 1954, son of the late Walter and Lola Grace (Harvey) McKeel. Albert worked for Babich and Staller Construction in Pittsburgh for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lo...dge 1358 in Sutersville, PA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his son, Albert E. McKeel, Jr. and his wife Heather of Tionesta, and his daughter, Heather Jo McKeel of West Newton, PA. Five grandchildren: Hanna, Cameron, and Jayden McKeel and Brittney and Ryan Peters. Three brothers: Walter McKeel of Irwin, PA; Pete McKeel and his wife Noreen of Herminie, PA; and Dallas McKeel of Arona, PA. His sister, Lohellen Spoonhour and her husband William of Arona. We are saddened to announce the death of Thomas F. Banks, 65, most recently of Clarington, PA, formerly of Florida, and a son of Western PA, moved into the fall sky on Friday, October 2, 2020. For Thomas, life was an adventure. He loved the outdoors and found his heart among the beautiful mountains, trees and rivers of Western PA, where he spent his last days. Born on December 27th, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, to Walter and Pat Banks, Thomas grew up on a farm just outside ...of LaJose, PA. After graduating from Curwensville HS class of 1972, he served his country in the United Air Force from 1972-1976. He then began what would become a long career in law enforcement first joining the North Carolina Highway Patrol, later serving as a deputy in the Indiana County Police Department, and later as a deputy and detective in the Monroe County Sheriff's Department in the Florida Keys. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother Patricia McIlwain, his father Walter Banks, and his brother Christopher Banks. He is survived by son Daniel Banks (wife Allyson), daughter Megan Banks, brother Steve Banks, sister Rosemary McGlynn (husband Denny), sister Claire Zovko (husband Joe), many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was a loving family man to his core, friend to all he knew, and will be deeply and profoundly missed by all who loved him. There will be no public visitation, all services will be private. We are saddened to announce the death of Mark A. Shupe, age 60, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Levittown, PA, died on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, PA. He was born November 13, 1959 in Bristol, PA, son of Shirley J. (Pirhalla) Shupe who survives in Tionesta, and of the late Phillip J. Shupe Sr. Mark Served in the U.S. Army for 3 Years. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler Football fan. Locally he was previously employed by Long Acres ...Potato Farms of Tionesta, and Trader Horn of Clarion, PA. Mark enjoyed his cat Brownie who would follow him everywhere he would go. In addition to his mom surviving are four brothers, Phillip J. Shupe Jr. and his wife Mary Beth of Levittown; David R. Shupe of Tionesta; Blair R. Shupe of Terre Hill, PA; Kevin W. Shupe of Bensalem, PA. Two sisters, Loretta A. Dileo and her husband David of Yardley, PA; Shirley J. Corson of Sinking Spring, PA. We are saddened to announce the death of Paul R. Weller, age 92, of Tionesta, PA, died on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his home in Tionesta. He was born December 21, 1927 in Kellettville, PA, son of the late Ross and Katherine (Ransom) Weller. Paul grew up on the family farm in Kellettville, the family homestead that was taken over by the Army Corps of Engineers for the Tionesta Dam project, and was a farmer all of his life, retiring from the Flying W. Ranch in Kellettville.... Surviving are his daughter, Traci L. Wade and her husband Jeffrey of Tionesta. A brother Ronnie Weller and his wife Joyce, also of Tionesta. One nephew and three nieces; Dale Weller and his wife Margaret; Jenny Wagonseller and her husband Rick, all also of Tionesta. Jani Roberts and her husband Johnny; and Debbie Vance, all of Florida. We are saddened to announce the death of Leslie D. Kent, age 64, recently of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Jamestown, NY, died on September 14, 2020 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. He was born August 26, 1956 in Jamestown, son of William Kent of Florida and the late Janice (Dilts) Kent. On May 29, 1976 at Lakewood United Methodist Church in Lakewood, NY, he married Patricia Ann Patti (Sorensen) Kent, who survives. Leslie retired from Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Raleigh, ...NC, where he worked as a project manager which specialized in Information Technology. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club in Lakewood, and the Carroll Rod and Club, Frewsburg, NY. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his son, Brandon L. Kent and his significant other Charlette Stiffler of Tionesta. Two grandchildren, Tyler and Dakota, both at home. His brother, David Kent in Kentucky, and several half-sisters. There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, NY. We are saddened to announce the death of Bette D. (Ashbaugh) Walters, age 80, of Tionesta, PA, died on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at her home in Tionesta. She was born December 14, 1939 in Elders Ridge, PA (Indiana County), daughter of the late James Deane and Lillian (Gwen) Ashbaugh. On April 16, 1976 she married Charles M. Chuck Walters who died June 24, 2017. Bette graduated from Elders Ridge High School in 1957 and went on to attend Indiana University of Pennsy...lvania where she earned her Bachelor of Science Teaching Degree in Home Economics. She taught Home Economics at Oil City High School ultimately becoming the Penn State Home Economist Agent in Forest County for Penn State Extension until she retired. After retirement she served on the Penn State Extension Board in Forest County. Bette currently was serving and was a longtime member of the Central Electric Board of Parker, PA. She was previously active with several local activities including the Red Hat Society of Tionesta, Tionesta Community Association (TCA), and a volunteer EMT for the Tionesta Ambulance Service. Surviving are her son, Dean Kenneth Nelson and his wife Tammy of Knox, PA. Two grandsons, Richard Nelson and his wife Kim of New Bethlehem, PA; Johnathan Nelson, also of Knox. A granddaughter, Amanda Wolfe and her husband Ryan of Delmont, PA. A great-grandson Caden Nelson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Ashbaugh. She was born January 18, 1950 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late William A. and Dolores Winklmann. On March 18, 1978, in Pittsburgh, she married her husband of 42 years, Robert E. Bendig, who survives. Sharon was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Tionesta. She enjoye...d crocheting, baking, tending to her gardens of flowers and vegetables, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Stephen C. Perrotti and his wife Kim, of Pittsburgh, and Andrew W. Bendig and his wife Lisa of Etna, PA. Two daughters: Sunny A. Kennedy and Lori R. Divido, both of Pittsburgh. Two stepsons: William Bendig and his wife Sandy, and Timothy Bendig and his husband James, all of Pittsburgh. We are saddened to announce the death of Myrna L. Bailey, age 84, of Tionesta, PA, who died on Thursday afternoon, August 27, 2020, at her home in Tionesta. She was born August 12, 1936 in Port Allegany, PA, daughter of the late Charles A. and Alma (Snyder) Cochran. On November 10, 1982 at the Eisenhower Chapel at Penn State University in University Park, PA, Myrna married her husband of 37 years, James B. Bailey, who survives. Myrna studied to be a Licensed Practical Nur...se (LPN) at the Venango Technology Center in Oil City, PA. She worked as an LPN at the Snyder Memorial Home in Marienville, PA for a brief time, eventually retiring from Titusville Area Hospital in Titusville, PA in 1999. She was a member of the Tionesta United Methodist Church where she co-founded the Lee Yung Sook Adoption Fund, providing financial assistance to families working through the adoption system from around the world. Myrna was a Past Worthy Matron of the former Sylvania Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Tionesta. She enjoyed growing and arranging flowers and, most of all, she enjoyed children. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters: Susan J. Decker of Tionesta; Jean E. Campbell of Erie, PA; Cymina E. Campbell of Tionesta; Kim L. Hasbrouck and her husband Jason of Antioch, IL; and Jill N. Martin and her husband Shawn of Mt. Lebanon, PA. Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Three sisters: Mary Spaulding and her husband Billy of Goshen, OH; Carolyn Murray of Kane, PA; and Charlotte Rowan in Florida. Several nieces and nephews. We are saddened to announce the death of Marshall L. Tucker, age 89, of West Hickory, PA, who died on Saturday evening, August 8, 2020 at the home of his daughter in Tidioute, PA. He was born September 13, 1930 in West Hickory, son of the late Lawrence and Eva (Lindemuth) Tucker. Marshall graduated from West Hickory High School with the class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On September 5, 1954 in Tidioute he married Shirley F. (Huddleson) T...ucker who died July 29, 2012. Marshall retired from Cytemp in Titusville, PA where he worked as an electrician. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by two daughters, Karen Durstine and her husband Dave; and Krystal Watters and her husband Chuck, all of Tidioute. His daughter-in-law Sheila A. Tucker of East Hickory. Seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. His sister Teresa Miller and her husband William of Bradford, PA. Numerous nieces and nephews. We are saddened to announce the death of Patrick J. Pat Lyons, age 89, of Erie, PA, formerly of Tionesta, PA, who died on Tuesday morning, August 4, 2020 at ForestView Health Care Center at Springhill in Erie. He was born April 3, 1931 in Erie, son of the late John F. and Margaret C. (VanSickle) Lyons. Pat graduated from Millcreek High School in Erie with the class of 1949. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952. On March 29, 1957, ...he married his wife of 59 years, Nola Gale (Weingard) Lyons, who preceded him in death on November 16, 2016. Pat worked as a service technician for General Telephone in Erie, PA for 38 years until his retirement. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Tionesta where the Weingard ancestors had settled in the 1800s. In 1992, the couple joined Nola’s brother, Lew Weingard and his wife Paula, to replicate the history of their ancestors with a historic sail down the Allegheny River on a 36’ river barge called the Pine Knot then on to a 7-passenger houseboat, The Quest, that sailed the Ohio and Mississippi to New Orleans. Pat and Nola traveled extensively in their RV, and visited all 50 states and 44 countries. The couple also enjoyed bicycling and biked in New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, and throughout Europe. IPat is survived by three daughters and two sons: Cathy A. Balest and her husband Ric of Gibsonia, PA; Cheri Spencer of Topeka, KS; Dale L. Fischer and her husband Mark of San Antonio, TX; Dana P. Lyons and his wife Debra of The Woodlands, TX; and Dean E. Lyons and his wife Shelby of Allison Park, PA. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Carter of Ft. Myers, FL, sister-in-law Dorothy Lyons, brother-in-law Jerry Grubbs, eleven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: John and Jerry Lyons and Mary Ann Grubbs. He will be missed by his family and friends. We are saddened to announce the death of Brenda Y. Kuntz, age 65, of East Hickory, PA, who passed away peacefully at her home while holding her daughter-in-law’s hand following a two year illness on Wednesday morning, July 15, 2020. She was born on January 28, 1955 in Warren, PA, daughter of the late Kenneth Arden and Yvonne Lucille (Holmes) Littlefield. On February 24, 1973, she married Jack D. Kuntz, who preceded her in death on January 31, 2014. Brenda was Methodi...st by faith. She worked as a Driver’s License Examiner for PennDOT until her retirement in November of 2017. Brenda enjoyed crafts, local history, traveling to Ohio Amish country, and going to the casino and bingo with her very special daughter-in-law. She also loved Christmas and wished that every day could be Christmas Day. She left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her son and daughter-in-law, who have no idea what to do with it. She is survived by her son, Clint D. Kuntz and his wife Jamie of East Hickory. Four grandsons, who not only stole her heart, but also spent most of her money: Kyle Kuntz and his wife Taylor of Pleasantville, PA; Dan Kuntz and Colton Kuntz of East Hickory, and Cody Anderson and his significant other Hope Stritzinger of Florida. Four siblings, of whom she was the oldest, making her the boss: Kenny Littlefield of Lynch, PA; Kim Grubbs and her husband Jamie of Barnes, PA; Lisa Odonish and her husband Nick of Sheffield, PA; and Susan Littlefield, also of Sheffield. She is survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many, many cousins (and yes, Cindy, you were her favorite). She is also survived by her special granddog, Emmy. Jane Gamble, age 80, of Tionesta, PA, more recently of Lakeland, Florida, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center in Florida. She was born April 20, 1940 in Titusville, PA, daughter of the late Charles Morris and Winifred Lagene (Johnston) Wade. On December 13, 1958 at the Tionesta Presbyterian Church in Tionesta, PA she married Charles C. Chuck Gamble who died on May 16, 2014 after... 55 years of marriage. Jane’s passion was babysitting children and she kept a list of over 177 children that she watched over the years. She is survived by three daughters: Sloane Bushey and her husband Mike of Mulberry, FL; Paige Amsler and her husband Bud of Parker, PA; and Billi Johnson and her husband David of Lakeland, FL. Nine grandchildren: Carly Seaman and her husband Michael of Buffalo, NY; Dustin Amsler and his wife Erin of Oil City, PA; Bobby Amsler and his fiancé Kalin Foster both of Harrisville, PA. Michael and his fiancé Malina Nguyen both of Butler, PA; Billy Amsler of Parker; Tommy and his wife Chloe Amsler of Parker; Gary Amsler of Parker, PA; Cody Johnson and his significant other Casey Phillips of Avon Park, FL; and Sydney Jo Johnson of Lakeland.
