Thank you to Beatrice and Stan Christoff, who have donated a scrapbook of World War II military stories from the Northampton area. It was created by Beatrice's grandmother, Hattie Ruch, and includes newspaper clippings of the men and women that appeared in our local press. Beatrice has placed each of the clippings in plastic sleeves to preserve them and she has created an index listing each of the servicemen and women by page number. It is an invaluable artifact of the role of our local effort in the defeat of the Axis Powers in WWII. A link to the index is available here: http://www.northamptonhistorical.org/news.html

This showed up on my memories this morning. Pat Sinatore, his son Perry and boxer Sonny Liston in front of Sinatore's Market in 1961. Many of us have a lot of nice memories of Pat and Rose and their great little store.

Indian Trail Park, along Route 248, Northampton, PA had rides, a pool and a restaurant. The park opened in 1929 and closed in 1984. Lehigh Township owns the property today.
