North East Food Pantry

Just a reminder that the pantry will be open this afternoon from 2-4 accepting dropoff donations.

Good morning. This Saturday, May 1 starts a new cycle of service churches at the pantry. You will be served by Park United Methodist, Praise Cathedral and Lake Shore Free Methodist. We are still serving you outdoors as we have been. As of this writing we are not open inside yet. Please continue to follow CDC guidelines, protecting us as we protect you. Also, starting in May, the pantry will be open on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month for donations. That will start Thursday, May 13(from 2-4PM). And, please know that you can always drop off donations on Saturday morning from 9:30-noon. Enjoy Spring and we will see our A-L clients this week.

Good snowy Spring morning, I just wanted to pass along some information concerning donations. We will NOT be collecting food donations for the remainder of April. Beginning in May, we will be collecting twice a month on Thursday as it was set up previously. Please watch this page and the NE News Journal for what dates. We will also ask that you please watch the dates on the donated food(we cannot accept outdated donations and we just have to dispose of them). We are very thankful for the donations received so far and know there are some who have asked that we keep this going. God is good and we are blessed. Please don't hesitate to contact us here if the need arises.

Good afternoon, this is a reminder that the pantry will be open this coming Thursday from 2-4pm(the last for April) for any food/cash donations that you would want to drop off. The Thursday openings have been very beneficial and we are ever so grateful for the generosity and concern of the people in the area. Beginning in May, we will be open on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month to continue this program. If those times do not suit, please contact us here and we will do whatever we can to accommodate you. Again, we say "Thank you" for your support.

Good afternoon. We start a new month of volunteers this week. You will be served the month of April by Immanuel United Methodist, Lake Shore Free Methodist, North Coast Christian Fellowship and State Line Methodist. Also, the times the pantry was open for donations was beneficial so we are extending that opportunity. The pantry will be open Thursday April 1 and Thursday April 15 from 2-4 for anyone wanting to drop off donations. We are so very thankful for the generosity of our community in wanting to help others. This is Holy Week on the Christian calendar and let us rejoice this Easter for "He is Risen".

Move the Mountain was a success even though the group had to do a cut down version this year. We are still receiving funds and some donations. Those of you who may still want to drop off food donations, the pantry is open on Saturday's from 9:30-12:00. Also, good news, you can still purchase the $5 food bags at Sander's Market here in North East through the end of November. Just mention it to the person at the checkout. They take care of the rest. Again, thank you for your generosity and have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

We want to send out a thank you to Bill Bennett and the Door ministry here in North East for blessing us with some fresh produce that we will be able to share with our clients. We also received some potatoes and squash from another generous farming family here in North East. We are blessed by these donations to help keep our clients supplied during these trying times. Remember, tomorrow, November 14 is the downsized version of Move the Mountain for this year. MTM people will be at Sander's Market accepting monetary donations as well as selling tickets for their Wine Around the Town Raffle Basket. You can also purchase a $5 bag of groceries at the checkout. We are thankful for any help you can give. Please note, any checks should be made payable to NE Community Food Pantry. Again, thank you. This is to inform you that the Move the Mountain Food Drive for 2020 has been cancelled due to the rising numbers with the coronavirus. There is still good news in all of this. Move the Mountain people will be at Sander's Market from 9-2 on Saturday, November 14 doing a smaller version of their annual food drive. Sander's will have $5 food bags available for you to purchase at checkout. The MTM crew will be selling tickets for their Wine Around the Town Raffle Basket as well as accepting monetary donations for the Pantry. If you are donating by check, please make it payable to the North East Community Food Pantry. If you want to mail it, our address is P O Box 682, North East, PA 16428. We at the Pantry are grateful and thankful that this project can still go on this year.

Good morning. This is just a reminder that this Saturday, October 31(5th Saturday of the month), the pantry will NOT be open. We resume operations on Saturday, November 7. Also, the Move the Mountain drive will be held on Saturday, November 14. Donations will be taken at Crescent Hose Company from 9-2.
