Irma Muniz is a dedicated patient in our Vineland, NJ center following a total knee replacement and shoulder rotator cuff tendinitis. She arrived on her last day wearing one of our NovaCare shirts and asked the team to sign it since she was so happy with her care. Irma stated, NovaCare is the most experienced place I have been for therapy and the teamwork is outstanding, especially Amy Allonardo, P.T. The place is clean and well organized, especially with the pandemic. This place has been my home away from home. I wish the best to all and if anybody needs therapy, I would recommend NovaCare’s Vineland location. You will also get the best greeting from the front desk staff and feel very welcomed.
Your body goes through some amazing changes with pregnancy and delivery and sometimes it needs help to function its best or prevent future issues. No matter how your birthing experience went, a pelvic floor exam is recommended to assess: - The pelvic floor and screen for any dysfunction that may be present - Pelvic girdle instability or pain - The abdominal muscle wall
William, a lifelong artist and patient at our Spring Garden center, experienced difficulty gripping his brushes and steadying his hand while painting. Brenna Whalen, certified hand therapist, and her student, Brian O'Sullivan, collaborated with William and taught him how to hold up his paint brushes with Coban wrap to improve grip and they added weights to the brushes to help steady William’s hand while working. The result? William began painting again and was so pleased with the outcome, he presented this beautiful painting to the center which he created using his adaptive brushes.
It’s tee time! But before hitting the greens, make sure you’re warming up properly. Performing dynamic mobility and activation exercises prior to hitting a golf ball have been shown to reduce the risk of injury and increase club head speed, ball speed and total carry distance. What’s your favorite course to play? This video was filmed before COVID-19.
Our Dubois, PA team recently hosted a Fusionetics open house. Karen Judeich, physical therapist, provided information on Fusionetics, determined movement efficiency scores and analyzed areas of the body that may need additional support. Following testing, Karen invited community members back to our centers for future screenings to see if their score has improved.
The good news is: Physical therapy can help! Megan Gerhart, P.T., DPT, talks pelvic floor and its impact on the body. Visit your nearest center to determine if physical therapy can help you: http://ow.ly/XW2N50EL5kb. #WomensHealthWeek
