Newtown Square Fire Company has St David's Road closed between Glendale and Millview for wires down on the road on fire. The traffic lights are also not functioning at Sawmill and 252. Please use caution in the area and avoid if possible!

FOUND! Thank you everyone for sharing! We have been notified the glasses were left at the condo offices today and will be reunited with their owner this evening. The volunteer appreciates everyone's help, especially the good samaritan for keeping them safe from the fire scene on Friday! Missing Prescription Glasses: At the fire on Friday in Greene Countrie Village, one of our volunteers handed his glasses to a bystander on the way into the building. We are trying to find the nice woman with blond hair and recover the glasses. At 1200 today, the fire company was dispatched to the 200 block of East Chelsea Circle in Greene Countrie Village for a building fire with possible entrapment. Chief 41 arrived on location with a 2 story middle of the row with fire through the roof. 2 residents and several pets were removed by first responders and there were no injuries. Crews were on scene for several hours today with mutual aid from multiple companies. We are very thankful for the companies that assisted at... the scene and covered our station during the long incident. Earlier this evening, the Newtown Square Fire Company responded to a 2 vehicle accident at West Chester Pike and Charles Ellis Dr. Only minor injuries resulted and the scene was cleared in about 20 minutes.

Broomall firefighters were alerted to this reported garage fire in the 200blk of Harvest Lane, Marple Twp. last evening around 8pm. Chief 53 arrived to find sm...oke showing from the garage on this 2sty SFD. After further investigation it was determined to be a bin and trash can burning inside the garage and the homeowner was able to put a knock on the fire with a garden hose. The box assignment was scaled back to Co. 53 & Ladder 41 (Newtown Square Fire Company) for overhaul and ventilation of smoke from the residence. Around 245am BFC volunteers were alerted to a house fire in the 2400blk of N. Greenhill Road, Marple Twp. Deputy 53 arrived to find a working chimney fire exte...nding into an addition on the C Side of the structure. Crews from Engine & Truck 53 along with Ladder & Engine 41 (Newtown Square Fire Company) worked to extinguish the fire while overhauling the area of origin. Additional aid from Manoa Fire Company assisted with overhaul and stood-by for water supply. No injuries were reported and D/C Lefferts had Greenhill Road Command. See more

Just before midnight on Christmas, the Newtown Square Fire Company was dispatched for a house fire on School Lane. Luckily, many volunteers were still in station from an earlier call. In preparation for tomorrow's deliveries, today was a big sorting day for our 9th Annual Holiday Fundraiser. Thanks to all the volunteers that came out to help sort the greens into their routes!

Monday night drill involved practicing vehicle extrication skills using the Hurst tools (jaws of life). Many thanks to the Newtown Township Public Works department for the use of their lot for drill!
