"The Antenna" was written and edited by the Naval Training School at the Bedford Springs. It was published by the Gazette Publishing Co. and sold for 5 cents at Davidson Cigar Store in Bedford, PA. It measures 9.5" x 12.5" and consisted of 6 pages. The articles contained information about the school, students enrolled, their families, localities, etc. Sailors went on liberty to the surrounding communities of Bedford "Carlsbad of America", Johnstown, Altoona, Harrisburg, and Cumberland to name a few. Sailors going out into Bedford were referred to as Gobs by the editorial staff. {For those that don't know, a gob is what people in Western PA/Pittsburgh region/Amish call a Whoopie Pie.}
