It is with deep sadness that we share with you all that our Johnny-boy passed away yesterday after 16-months of battling a traumatic brain injury. John was the epitome of cantankerous. He was argumentative and uncooperative to the point of side-splitting laughter. He engaged people and he encouraged community between them. His goal was to get everyone to stay for just one more - one more round, one more joke, one more song, one more laugh. ... He’d give you his last smoke and a twenty if you were down on your luck, and he’d buy you a shot to boot. As a bartender, he was everyone’s friend. And as a friend, he was one of the best.
