Hands up for PIZZA FRIDAY! today I saw a page shaming pizza and chula I AINT GOT NO TIME FOR THAT! Pizza is such a fun and versatile food. I mean you can literally eat it for any meal! And it’s pretty much a complete dish. You got the cheese, you got the crust, you got the tomato sauce. You can add veggies. You can add meat. You can add even more cheese. I mean seriously pizza can do it all ... And it’s so damn affordable. So let’s talk the what the haters gonna say. Oh, it’s too high in sodium. Well SO many other foods are technically on the higher sodium side BUT aren’t as complete than pizza. Our bodies need sodium. No not in excess but it’s an electrolyte and it has a pretty important role in balancing your hydration out. The za also gives us tons of nutrients. Like calcium, b vitamins and carbs, protein and fat. And man if you pimp in out with some more veggies you get even more nutrients. But hey. That’s your choice whether you wanna add toppings or not. No judgement if you don’t. Listen chula, there is no need to fear it. There’s no need to feel guilty for eating it. There’s no need to feel like you have to work it off. Chula, gimme a if you have no idea what a hunger scale is?? That's quite alright because imma break it down for you below! The hunger scale is a tool we use to check in with our hunger cues. Chula, you may have lost touch with your body cues due to a number of reasons. But using this as a guide can help you understand what is going on and help you figure out why you "crave or overeat" Here is the break down:... 1. You are so hungry your belly hurts! 2. You are HANGRY. Irritable, cannot focus and people are getting on your nerves lol 3. Feeling hungry, stomach is now growling. 4. You can eat now and start thinking of food 5. You're chilling, not hungry or full 6. You have had a few bites, feeling good BUT can def eat more. 7. You are satisfied and feeling comfortable 8. You are little past full and starting to feel uncomfortable 9. Thanksgiving full, girl unbutton those pants feeling 10. Nausea, sick, super uncomfortable So what do these all mean? Before you start eating ask yourself, Where am I on the scale?" You would want to be in the 3-4 range, becuase that means you are ready for food bb! During your meal, always check in and see where you are, so many of us scarf down food in a hurry that we do not let our bodies have time to tell us we are feeling satisfied. Eat until you get to a 6 or 7, then stop. If you do this and have some trouble listening to your cues, ask yourself: Do you eat regularly? Do you skip meals and snacks? Do you just pick at snacks all day and don't feel hungry? When we stop paying attention to our cues and not eating when hungry and stopping when satisfied, we eff up our hunger hormones. You don't have to be perfect at the scale. There's no right or wrong answer. You will eat past 7 sometimes and all of this is normal. BUT if you constantly feel like you tend to over eat or binge at times. Take a look at how your days are going, you probably did not eat enough and your body is trying to catch up on fuel! Are you sometimes confused about food freedom? Ask me your questions below! When I get asked about food freedom there are so many questions, I can really eat whatever I want? Will I really ever want veggies? How is this ok? Chula, here’s the thing. When you allow yourself unconditional permission to eat food. Regardless of what it is, you eat and stress is left behind. ... If you want the pizza and have it, you then can move on and have a salad or not. Food loses its moral value and you eat what satisfies you and taste good. The binges stop and you have a better relationship with food. Veggies, cookies, cupcakes, fruit all become a normal part of your meals and life around food is guilt free. One of my clients had so many questions during our first session. She felt like if she let herself eat whatever she wanted she would go crazy and eat a whole cake. After working together a few weeks and allowing herself to eat the soft pretzel or have a few chocolates took away the urges she felt before. Her fears of letting her self go were put at ease and she’s living guilt free one meal at a time. The best part; she no longer intensely craves sweets and feels so much more energized.
