OB/GYN Associates of Erie is pleased to welcome the newest member of its clinical team, Laura Sproat, M.D. Dr. Sproat received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency at Case Western MetroHealth/Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Sproat began practice in 2009 and most recently has been practicing in Philadelphia. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. We are requesting that, when possible, patients not bring any visitors to their appointment. If a visitor must accompany you, they will need to stay in their car or the waiting room. Prenatal patients or post-operative patients, or any other patients who are unable to reschedule their appointments, please call in to our Triage team (814-459-1851, Option 4) for further instructions. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 and need emergency obstetric or gynecologic care, please call the office before presenting to the emergency room, OB triage, or the labor floor, so that we may notify the hospital staff of the need for an isolation room during your evaluation. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published information about COVID-19 and the risk factors for pregnant & breastfeeding women. While the CDC does not have information from published scientific reports about susceptibility of pregnant women to COVID-19, it says "pregnant women experience immunologic and physiologic changes which might make them more susceptible to viral respiratory infections, including COVID-19."
