Oil Creek State Park

Looking for a fun, family activity this Saturday? Meet the park naturalist to learn all about frogs and toads of Venango County! There are still plenty of spots open, but registration is required. Masks are required for all in-person programming at Oil Creek.

Join the park naturalist this Thursday for a 1.5 mile out-and-back hike to the Benninghoff Farm Tableau. Along the way you'll learn all about a famous robbery that took place in "The Wickedest Town East of the Mississippi." Registration is required. You can register by visiting https://events.dcnr.pa.gov/e/the_great_benninghoff_robbery and clicking the green 'register' button, or by calling the naturalist at 814.676.1810. Masks are currently required for all park programming.

Today is the day! Come on down to the park office between 10:00am and 2:00pm to participate in the Family Bird Search. Laminated photos of birds are hidden around the Egbert Farm Day Use Area for today only! You can pick up a bird list, pen, and clipboard from the park office to keep track of what you find. Once you're done, come back to collect a prize!

Public Meeting set to discuss the bike trail extension at Oil Creek State Park The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources invites the pu...blic to attend an informational Virtual Zoom meeting about plans to extend the bike trail at Oil Creek State Park from the park office to Route 8. Representatives from DCNR and Oil Creek State Park will present trail design options and will be available to answer questions on the proposed bike trail extension. This virtual meeting will take place on October 16th, 2020 at 2 PM via Zoom. This will be a leisurely ride on the bike trail, which follows along Oil Creek. Don't have a bike? We have one you can borrow for free! Masks and registration are required.
