K9 Finn of the Whitehall Borough Police Department is now equipped with a GPS tracking device, thanks to a donation from the Old Allegheny Shoppes. The GPS devi...ce attaches to K9 Finn’s collar to provide real time monitoring through an app installed on a smart device. This allows our handler to map the K9’s route of travel during search operations to ensure all areas are covered with minimal overlap. It can also be used to retrace the suspect’s flight path to locate pieces of evidence discarded during the pursuit. We sincerely thank the Old Allegheny Shoppes for their generous donation. The GPS tracking device not only enhances K9 operations, it also provides an additional measure of protection and safety for our K9 Team.
