Old Mill Woods Bed and Breakfast

Spring has come to Old Mill Woods. The birds are back. The grass is growing. Daffodils are blooming, as are the apple trees. The leaves are coming out on the trees. The lilacs are getting ready to bloom. Babies are being born and yesterday there was a little baby fawn right next to the driveway. Come visit us; we’d love to host you.

As we leave this holiday season we will leave you with one last glimpse. Here at Old Mill Woods we have had a wonderful celebration. We wish all of our friends the very best in the new year and hope to see many of you in the coming year.

In May 2014 we hosted our first guests from overseas who found us on their own and were just passing through the area (who weren't coming to Old Mill Woods Bed and Breakfast to stay while they attended another event in the area). They were from Spain. While they were here they noticed this bottle of Spanish wine that we had. It turns out that it is made about 1/2 hour from where they live. They had to take a picture of us holding the bottle of wine. In 2017 we hosted a couple... and their daughter from Germany and a couple from Israel. It was great getting to know these guests and sometimes struggling through the communication challenges. Mark Cowan was trying to tell the couple from Spain about the beavers that had damned up our creek and caused the area at the base of the hill to flood. The couple were talking with each other in Spanish and Mark heard them say "castor" which is Spanish for beaver. He recognized the name as the genus name for beaver and he was able to tell them that it was indeed a beaver. See more

Today we had a rainbow so big that I couldn't get it in one shot. We certainly do live in a little piece of Eden. Last weekend we had two brothers and their spouses stay with us for the third and fourth time. One brother is from CT and one from MD. We were glad to welcome them back. Next weekend we have some people from CT coming to stay who haven't been here before. They are also from CT. They are coming to the area to pick up a puppy from a place in Westfield, PA which is about an hour from us. We are looking forward to meeting them.
