Levi has been working so hard and we couldn’t be prouder. Yesterday he did a great job eating again. Dr. Cristina Padilla - Thrive Family Chiropractic adjusted... him again last night to ensure we keep him on track and don’t lose any progress we have made with his body. The chiropractic adjustments not only align his body but also have helped to regulate his digestion. Constipation is a frequent issue with kiddos with brain injuries but thanks to the chiropractic care he receives everything has stayed regular which makes a big difference in his comfort. Levi started his morning by eating 2.5 ounces of food by mouth. He gets into a rhythmic flow and is doing great with puréed food. I’m hoping as he awareness increases he will really start to eat again and it will just be second nature. He showed us his determination during his repatterning session today. That is the 50 minute session dedicated to reintegrating his reflexes. He showed us neck strength, trunk strength, head turning and overall his fierce grit to not give up. It reminded me of Levi as an infant and I got a glimpse of him coming back. We know we must commit to putting him in tummy time more to help strengthen his shoulders and continue to protect his joints in order to keep his body ready and able to move when he’s ready. Today we also got to spend time with the other families here. They are all warriors- fighting so hard for their kids. It’s truly inspiring being around such incredible families. Tomorrow is our last day and we ask that you continue to pray that’s it’s another good day of development. Levi has made good progress this trip and we are excited to keep the momentum going. We thank you for your support, love, kindness, and prayers you are what keeps us lifted during this time.

It’s been a pretty great Day 2. It’s hard to truly describe what’s being done at this conference but they are working on helping Levi’s reflexes come back. The...y are retraining his mind as if he were an infant again. By getting his reflexes back in the proper order, it gives Levi the best chance at functioning again as he once did. Today we saw more head control, neck strength, head turning, and rolling over. Things are starting to come back for Levi. It’s a process and it will take time and repetition but they are laying the foundation again for him. We also had a fun surprise visitor today. Dr. Crawford of Austin Center for Developing Minds was in town for a conference and he stopped by to say hi. Many of the families here at the NFD conference are also seen and treated by Dr. Crawford. It was nice to see him and his wife. Ironically, we will be at his office next Monday for another week of intensive treatment by his team. When we got back to the room we worked on feeding him and he ate 2 ounces of food! This is the most he has eaten since the accident! Levi was my best eater and I know he will be my best eater again! We then had Dr. Cristina Padilla - Thrive Family Chiropractic come from Jacksonville, FL to adjust Levi! Dr. Nancy had reached out to her friend and colleague and Dr. Cristina was kind enough to not only come to Orlando but will be staying through Tuesday to adjust Levi for us and keep his body in its best condition during our time down here. I just can’t get over the incredible providers that are coming into our lives. Dr. Cristina is another one of Levi’s angels and we couldn’t be more thankful. It’s been nice to meet the other families at this conference. To connect with families who not only know the pain we are experiencing but also can help give us hope. Seeing their amazing kids fuels us to keep fighting for Levi and keep seeking the best treatments available for our son. Please keep Levi in your prayers. We are so excited at the progress made in the first 2 days and can’t wait to see what the next 3 days will reveal.
