Today, it involves mercy killing for the purposes of:... - putting an end to extreme suffering; - having abnormal babies; - the mentally ill; - the incurably sick; -burden to families and society; - quality of life. Mercy killing and neglect are not part of the Christian view of human dignity and have no role in medical care. Life is a fundamental good and the basis of all other goods. It is a gift of God’s love who made the human person in His image and likeness. Thus, human life deserves utmost care and we have a duty to preserve it.
