The Apprenticeship Program is experiencing a high rate of unemployment among its current Apprentices due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this, the application period that is normally held in December will be delayed until the work situation improves. To receive notification of the next application period, visit the Program’s website www.wpaoperators.org and sign up on the Pre-Register page. You’ll then receive an application announcement approximately 30 days in advance of the next application period.

Urgent Legislative Update: The Covid-19 pandemic has created new challenges and PennDOT is feeling the squeeze that many of us have experienced. There has been a significant reduction in fuels tax collected as a result of the novel coronavirus and this threatens our work in 2021. Currently, PennDOT has requested a 600 million dollar bond authorization from the PA Legislature and we need our elected officials to act immediately! Please call your local Representatives in the PA State House and PA State Senate and urge them to support this critical and necessary authorization.

ANNUITY FUND CARES ACT DISTRIBUTION DEADLINES: REQUESTS FOR APPLICATIONS MUST BE MADE TO THE FUNDS OFFICE NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 7, 2020. APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 14, 2020.... ANY APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER DECEMBER 14, 2020 WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED TO BE PROCESSED DUE TO FEDERAL AND BANK PROCESSING DEADLINES. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. PLEASE NOTE: 2020 CONTRIBUTIONS ARE UNAVAILABLE UNDER THE CARES ACT.
