Orbisonia/Rockhill Homecoming 18.02.2022

Recap from tonight’s meeting: Zoom was used successfully and we had many attend in person. Date: Still going for Aug 17-20 Rides: Cindy tried another 5 companies and was referred to the one Shade Gap May be trying this year. Amanda will follow up with them. We also have Phantom as a possibility. Feeling really good with a couple options. Fundraising: Our main fundraising leaders weren’t able to attend but there is a grant we plan to try for next month that could sco...re us $25k. Jonathan will be discussing with his creatives to help us prepare with unique ideas that might earn the grant. Umbrella Group: We were hoping to be absorbed by EBT and get us a sub account to put funds, but with their grants and audits they feel it isn’t a great time. Historical Society will be approached next which also make great sense. Waylon is checking on this. Activities: Briefly discussed some add ins including special movie, Tween pageant and asking Trolley Company Theater to perform. Next meeting: Feb at 6 pm. Going to try for Zoom again. Thanks again everyone!! See more

Recap from tonight’s meeting: Thanks so much Val for leading and for the great conversations. Date: Still going for Aug 17-20 Rides: Cindy has struck out on normal rides so far but will try Garbrick in Centre Hall; Amanda confirmed that Phantom who we used last year with the inflatables is still open with all their offerings. Fundraising: Patty wants to involve the kids in the community somehow. Also considering posters, bingo, sponsorships with levels but HOPING EBT wil...l absorb us into their umbrella and get us a sub account to put funds. Jonathan is checking on this. Bingo: Justin found that we can get single game of chance for a day or month and very reasonable. Equipment may be purchased and donated in memory of community server Sally Rowe. Next meeting: Jan 11 at 6 pm. Going to try for Zoom then. Thanks again everyone!! See more

Great PRODUCTIVE and POSITIVE meeting last night. We started by sharing the many positive comments we've heard and fun stories of the joy this brought to so many. We did discuss the following common complaints in the light of SOLUTIONS. For all of you who want to be sure we discussed your particular complaint, check out the photos. Take note of WHAT LED to the "Problem," and consider volunteering if you see a place in the solution. I removed other possible solutions that... were discussed or I'd have pages and pages to upload. NEXT MEETING is set for Tuesday Sept 28th to review what Cindy finds out on rides and inflatables available for Aug 17th-20th. Hopefully we'll be able to finalize that date at the meeting. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who came to 1 or all meetings, joined by Zoom, gave your time, money, and/or passions to our community. We <3 you! And one last friendly reminder to offer grace to the the many who give time, money, passion, and risk their lives for our community... We have legitimate heroes among us. Forgive. Show grace. See more
