Fun Fact The first braces were designed in 1728, made out of a flat piece of metal connected to the teeth by thread. Orthodontic brackets were then invented by Edward Angle in 1915. He then also started the first ever school for Orthodontic specialists in 1901.

Dear Patients Orthodontic Specialists proudly unveiled our new and improved Dickson City location at 1640 Main Street, (the former Hollywood Video, next to Rite Aid) after years of serving our patients at our Blakely location. The new Dickson City location started seeing patients at the beginning of September 2020 providing them with a full range of orthodontic services. We are excited about the opportunity to continue meeting the orthodontic needs of the Valley Area, Scra...nton and surrounding communities. We will continue to uphold the commitment to our patients and provide a comfortable, spacious and family-friendly atmosphere. Our new space offers ample parking, bigger and brighter clinic and exam areas, and private rooms for consultations. We still have a few small projects to complete, however our office is fully functioning. Due to the social distancing restrictions and the number of patients/parents we can have in the office, we cannot have the open house we had anticipated. We would however, love to share some photos of our new office. Thank you all for your continued support and numerous referrals. It is a pleasure meeting new patients and families. The idea was to create a variety of space...s with various levels of privacy without creating a lot of individual "office feel" boxes. Very excited to see this completed. Updates: First, we want to take this opportunity to say Thank You to our patients and families for your kindness and patience during the re-opening phase of our office during Covid. Our office has followed the strict guidelines directed to us by The Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Dental Association. On Friday, June 26th, Lackawanna County is set to move into the green phase. Our office is still bound by guidelines set by the Pennsylvania Dental Association and t...he Pennsylvania Department of Health. Our protocol will remain the same as it has been for the previous 6 weeks. Our waiting room will remain closed. Upon arrival at our office, you will pull into a parking space, now numbered, call us when you arrive and let us know what parking space you are in. A staff member will come out, take the patient’s temperature, ask the Covid questions and have you sign the form. A mask is still required to enter the office. Our move: We are so excited to be moving to our new location soon. Patients will continue to come to our current location until September 4th. After Labor Day, starting September 7th, we will only be seeing patients at our new location located at 1640 Main Street, Dickson City (The old Hollywood Video, next to Rite Aid). We can’t wait to see you there and will continue to share updates and pictures!!:))) We hope you all have a wonderful weekend in ‘Green!’
