Peace and Every Good! Paz e Bem! We are grateful to all who offered prayers for our 23rd General Chapter meeting in Brazil. We are blessed to announce our newly elected General Council, who will begin their term on July 1, 2021: General Minister Sister Rute Almeida Guimarães, Assistant General Minister Sister Adriana Duarte, Sister Janet Gardner, Sister Joanice dos Santos, and Sister Neide Teixeira. Thank you, Sisters, for answering the call to leadership! We also would... like to take a moment to thank our outgoing General Council members for their faithful leadership and service during one of the most challenging times of our 99 years as Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God: General Minister Sister Joanne Brazinski, Assistant General Minister Sister Maria José da Conceição, and Sister Maria Goretti Avanzi. (Sisters Rute and Janet also served on this council). Pictured: Sisters Janet, Joanice, Neide, Rute, Joanne, Maria Goretti, Maria José, and Adriana.

Wishing you blessings and peace this Mother’s Day! We celebrate and give thanks for all blessed with a mother’s heart who God has filled with unconditional, absolute, and profound love. Please join us as we remember all mothers in prayer, both living and deceased. We also continue to lift up in prayer mothers and families struggling with poverty, illness, and other hardships. We recognize that this time is especially challenging for those unable to be with their mothers or children, as well as those whose mother or child is not present in their lives due to death, abandonment, or other reasons. Please know you are also lovingly remembered in our prayers. May God hold you close and bless you with love and peace.

During Teacher Appreciation Week 2021, we offer our prayers of gratitude for all called to be educators - both past and present. Thank you, teachers, principals, child caregivers, administrators, and others serving in education. May God Bless You and Keep You! Please join us by thanking all the wonderful teachers in your life and offering continuing prayers for all educators. In our prayerful reflections, we also ask, "What can we do to help support the challenging, yet vital work of teachers especially during challenging times like this past year?" #ThankATeacher #TeacherAppreciationWeek

"After a difficult election season, it is time for us to take up the twin tasks of reconciliation and healing," LCWR said in a statement released today in which... it pledges support to this work. "In these challenging times it is critically important that we break through that which divides us one from another, repair fractured relationships and reclaim our essential unity. "The people of this pluralistic nation form a diverse community characterized by different beliefs, experiences, and interests. We know that our differences can be our greatest strengths; our disagreements, opportunities to seek the truth. Our challenge is to embrace those differences and together seek the common good lest we rend the bonds that unite us."
