Today is the 2019 Trans Day of Remembrance. Today, we honor and remember trans people who have been killed. Today and every other day we promise to continue fighting for trans members of our community.

Hi everyone! Come to this event on Tuesday, cohosted by @pitt_nsbe and us, focusing on intersectionality and black ballroom culture. 8:30 p.m. in Benedum 227!

Meet Maui Smith! Maui is the president of diverSTEM, oSTEM’s racial and ethnic diversity affinity group. He is majoring in computer engineering with a minor in creative writing. When he’s not doing work for oSTEM, he enjoys being a member of HUNIE (healing, understanding, navigating (marginalized) identity + ethnicity) and NSBE.

Meet our vice president Jon Bingaman! Jon hails from Berks County, PA and is a junior chemical engineering major. He is completing co-op rotations at Dupont but hopes to go to graduate school after finishing up his degree here. He said he joined oSTEM for the community. I believe it’s important to express every part of yourself, and having an outlet where other people share the same ideas as you is nice, Jon said.
