Our Home of Hope, Inc.

This group brought joy to the residents today. They say they are coming back. PTL. The residents loved them being there and the way they were part of them and included them in the visit.

Covid-19 has presented some very difficult times for Our Home of Hope. Among them, is the fact that some of our staff chose not to stay with OHOH.. Since we have had residents tested positive, we are in need of more staff to help us have sufficient staff to cover the needs. The good thing, is that all negative persons, have received the Covid-19 shot. All positive persons will soon be through their 14 day quarantine. We are in need of a 3rd shift aide, who would be willi...ng to be trained to be a 3rd shift med tech. We are in need of reliable persons to work 2nd and 3rd shift as a aide. Our Home of Hope is in need of a good used recliner for someone that prefers to sleep in a recliner, instead of in a bed. Just putting this out there, in the event someone would have one they would donate or have for sell. If you have one please e-mail [email protected] Prefer it to be within 10 miles of Columbia for us to pick it up.

It has been a while since a post was updated for the home. This is a trying time for the staff and the residents. I want to thank both for the wonderful corpo...ration that we have had at the home. To date PTL we are coronavirus free and we thank the residents who are taking this seriously and staying on the property. We thank the staff who are being very careful when not at work and for coming to work and helping to keep the home coronavirus free. We are doing all that we know how in having the correct supplies to help to keep the home safe. Staff is taking residents for walks. This way we can control who they might meet and maybe stop and talk too, control that they do not go into stores etc. The residents need exercise and this way we are hoping that they can get some exercise and still help to keep the home safe. We have purchased more chairs for outside so that the residents can be sitting outside hopefully in the sunshine and warm weather. They need fresh air. We have restricted visitors and any delivery needs to come to only one door. If you have or know a resident that lives at the home, you can phone them and they will be able to talk to you by phone. Thank you to all that have delivered items and left them on the front porch. Toilet paper, etc. The residents are very much looking forward to when they can go over town and purchase items they would like, go to a restaurant when they would like to and order a meal etc. We are also looking forward to the time that will be a safe activity for them. If you are shopping and you find Toilet Paper please purchase it. Our supplier is out and we could use Toilet paper. Please just leave it on the front porch and we will pick it up and use it. We are not desperate but do not want to run out.
