Oyster Mill Playhouse 07.12.2020

Dear Oyster Mill Playhouse Supporters: The Oyster Mill Playhouse Board unanimously voted today to suspend the rest of the 2020 Season and reduce the number of productions slated for 2021 to three plays and one musical. This decision was based on several considerations, but the primary consideration is the safety of our patrons and volunteers. Given that our supporters have waited patiently through the spring and early summer for us to make these decisions, we felt it only fa...ir that we make this decision known as soon as possible so we can begin to make things right with current ticket holders. We have not made final decisions related to content and timing for 2021, but the board will be meeting mid-July to continue these discussions and finalize as many plans as possible. Patrons will be receiving refunds for their tickets and season subscriptions. Refunds will be sent as checks instead of sending via the original payment method. Patrons will be reimbursed starting August 1st through August 8th, and a secondary batch will be deployed August 15th through August 22nd. Checks will arrive via USPS and will be return addressed to the theatre. If you do not receive a refund by the end of August, please email [email protected] to confirm your refund status. As always, thank you for your unwavering support of Oyster Mill Playhouse. During these uncertain times, we can count our blessings that we are surrounded by a community of kindness. Be well, and we will see you soon at OMP! Theatrically Yours, Rosie Turner

It’s Giving Tuesday! Are you looking to help keep your community moving forward? We’d love to be considered! Check out our post below that details our holiday fundraiser!

Oyster Mill Playhouse 11.11.2020

Oyster Mill Playhouse is fundraising this holiday season and we are looking to light up our Giving Tree! We have candles (pictured below) that are available for our patrons and our OMP family to light through donation. Let’s break down how that works! $20 for 1 candle... $80 for a cluster of candles (5 candles) $150 for a bundle of candles (10 candles) We also have clear ornaments that are available for our patrons and our OMP family to decorate through donation. You can donate in honor of a loved one, in memory of someone who you’ll be missing this holiday season, or in the name of your family. Let’s break that down! $10 for 1 clear ornament $40 for a cluster of ornaments (5 ornaments) $80 for a bundle of ornaments (10 ornaments) We have one final decoration to really light up our tree! If you donate $200 or more, you will have lit the star on the top our tree! OMP likes to maintain transparency and, with that in mind, we do have a fundraising goal of $2500. This goal is to help us keep the lights on, the heat running, and prepare for our anxiously awaited 2021 season. We humbly ask for your help in bringing some light back to our dark stage this holiday season. If you’re able and willing to help, follow the link attached to this post. You will be redirected to our website to fill out your donation form. As soon as a donation has been processed, we will be lighting your candle or hanging your ornament and sharing with you and our OMP family. Anonymous donation requests will, of course, be respected. We thank you all so much for staying with us during these difficult times and we can’t express how much your support means to us.

2020 has been a year where, at times, it has been difficult to feel thankful for anything. A global pandemic shuttered our doors for the season and turned on the ghost light at theaters all across the world. As a nation we feared for our health, our safety, even our toilet paper supply. To say that we have all been through a lot, is putting it mildly. Despite the many challenges 2020 has bestowed upon us, we here at OMP are very thankful. We are grateful for our loyal and und...erstanding patrons who have graciously donated to us in 2020 allowing us to stay in business. We appreciate our volunteer staff who continue to work behind the scenes planning for a safe and entertaining return to business. We are working hard on planning our 2021 season in that hopes that we may soon welcome back our family of actors, musicians, artists and audience members that we sorely miss. We wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you so much for joining us as we fondly remembered some past performances. Fittingly, our final guest is Stephen FJ Martin, singing "My Love For You" from our 2019 production of "Romance/Romance" directed by Kristen Borgersen. Stephen would like to dedicate this performance to his (much) older brother, Art, and sister-in-law, Tina, who celebrated 48 years of marriage this past September.... Stephen has been a very familiar and friendly face at OMP for the last 30+ years. From directing to performing, lighting to sound design. You name it, this man has done it. This year, he served his final term as our Board Vice President. While we know he won't stay away too long from OMP (we hope!), we are so grateful for the many years of volunteer service Stephen has graciously offered to OMP. His amazing productions, the lasting friendships, his unmatched guidance, and having coffee ready for him upon arrival at our Board meetings are just a few of the fond memories we've had with Stephen. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you Stephen. Nothing can diminish all of our love for you.

Happy Tuesday and welcome back to "Musical Memories!" Our guest today is Sam Eisenhuth, singing "Who Can I Turn To?" from our 2013 production of "The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd", directed by Stephen FJ Martin. We asked Sam a tough question in what was the best discovery he made about himself after portraying Cocky and he told us that "I had never had a role as physically and emotionally challenging as this one. The role gave me better control of my actin...g emotions and it taught me how to have better control over my voice while singing. I am forever grateful to have had this role." Tune in tomorrow for our final "Musical Memories" video with our extra special final guest!

Happy Monday and welcome back to "Musical Memories!" Our guest today is Brandon Rexrode singing "Coffee Shop Nights" from our 2018 production of "Curtains", directed by Ryan Dean Schoening. We asked Brandon what the highlight of playing Lt. Frank Cioffi was and he told us "I'd never been the lead before and working so closely with so many people was incredible. I'm really glad I got to take that last bow and what a group to be up there with."... We'll see you tomorrow as we come close to finishing our "Musical Memories" series!
