Happy Monday! This morning brings good news for Apple Music users. Subscribers now have access to a wide selection of songs that now have high-quality audio support, along with lossless and spatial audio through Dolby Atmos. This will be a free perk available with your subscription. The next step on the user’s end would be to have a pair of headphones or an audio device that can also support these features, such as Beats or Airpods. Windows 10 has been around since 2015, and had a recent update about a week ago. Despite being around for so long, there are features and options hiding around the system that you may not know about! Tech Insider’s video about secret features in Windows 10 highlights some lesser-known but still useful features of the OS--my personal favorite is the Aero Shake:

Now that Centre County is in green status, we wanted to notify our customers that we will continue to employ mask and social distancing rules in our office. If you have health reasons for not wearing one, we will accommodate for your situation. For any other patrons, we understand that masks are uncomfortable and may seem impersonal or ineffective. Our employees have all managed to remain healthy during this period, all while handling phones, computers and other devices that... are coated in bacteria. We have maintained our health by employing cleaning and safety protocols and because of that maintenance, we have been available to serve for the duration of the state-wide closures. Please understand that we do this for the safety of our employees and customers. There will be employee votes on a weekly basis for mask/distancing rules and we will allow the staff to determine when we dismiss the precautions. Health is always our most important decision maker and employees have been working voluntarily throughout the shutdowns that have affected most businesses. Been a little bit since our last update, but our status hasn't been affected by the current situational changes. Our hours are still M-F 9-5pm and we will continue to follow social distancing recommendations and mask guidelines in our office or yours. We once again strongly encourage all out-of-area customers to call us before coming in to ensure that we are able to discuss your issues prior to you making the trip to State College. Supply chain issues have been holding up p...arts deliveries and we have experienced some drop in consignment replenishment. A thank you goes out to all of our current and past customers who have endured the situation with us and been patient with all of our policy modifications. In accordance with the Governor's new orders, we are following new guidelines in our store. Hours are unchanged and we're still available M-F 9-5pm. As of 8pm on Sunday, April 19, 2020, Governor Tom Wolf has ordered that all businesses who remain open during the current pandemic situation require breathing masks for all customers and employees. We will be actively observing the following and appreciate your cooperation and understanding. By following these rules and being compliant, we are able to keep our doors open for you during this time. 1) Only the owner of the product or device that has been or needs to be serviced may enter. The owner’s party must wait outside for them. No one will be allowed to wait in the stairwell. Children 12 and under are welcome to stay with their parents or guardians while in our location. 2) All patrons entering the premises must have a mask covering their nose and mouth. 3) All social distancing recommendations must be observed or patrons may be asked to leave the premises. We have placed markers that designate 6 foot spacing. Please remain behind these markers until we’ve asked for the next person to step forward. 4) All devices will be cleaned by our representatives, but if a device has an excessive amount of debris, residue, fingerprints or other markings on it, the check-in rep may decline service for health and safety reasons. You are welcome to take the device home, clean it and return with it.

Quick update since we haven't had any state-level changes to the stay-at-home provisions. We are still open on our regular M-F 9-5pm schedule for service and support needs. We do ask that all customers who may be in our shop keep a 6' distance from other patrons. This is especially relevant to all of our parents, grandparents and guardians of children out there. Please be aware that Zoom HAS vulnerabilities that can put your devices at risk. With the large influx of educational use for Zoom, we thought it a good idea to share this with you. Zoom uses old encryption algorithms that are not considered safe by current security standards. Please do not use the platform if you do not have to or at least until these vulnerabilities are isol...ated and repaired. We work with a different platform for our clients and have Microsoft clients, internally. Are those platforms perfect? No, but Zoom is not equipped to properly handle the amount of users they added and most zero-day vulnerabilities are handled by corporate tech giants within the day. It's been almost a week since these were initially reported on. Be careful out there. We always want to keep you safe and secure when it comes to your online life :)
