Cub Scout Pack 171

Registration is now open for our 2021/2022 program (Sept-May). We are a family pack, meaning boys or girls grades K-5 are welcome to join. We generally meet Monday evenings at Otterbein United Methodist Church on Forge Rd. A bunch of our Webelos scouts were out this afternoon enjoying the weather, learning about how trash impacts the environment, and putting some service work in to cleanup one of our local roads. 25 bags collected this afternoon. Nice job kids!

2021 Best In Show winners... Junior Division - Hayes Embrey (#9) Senior Division - Alaina Oyler (#23)... The Senior Division was a very tight race for Best In Show with 1 vote deciding the outcome. A Cubmaster Award will be awarded to Josiah Geiman for his entry (#23) a cheese block with the photo staged in the refrigerator. Congratulations to all of the scouts. There was clearly a lot of hard work and creative ideas in this years entries. You should all be proud!

Thank you to all of the scouts who worked the food drive and all of the local residents that responded in support and donated food. Together we were able to collect 2878 pounds of food for project share.

Thank you goes to these hard-working Popcorn Kernels! They sorted and collected cases upon cases of popcorn and nuts, transported the shipment, and are diligently breaking down the items for all the orders placed by the Pack Scouts. Great job Andrea and Libby!

Our scouts were out this morning all across Boiling Springs working hard to spread the word about our annual food drive, scouting for food. Next weekend the troop will be returning to the neighborhoods we visited to collect the food items and get them to our local food banks.
