Investing in PA’s environment brings numerous benefits to Pennsylvanians, including safe drinking water, reduced flooding, better air quality, added jobs, and more spaces to recreate, exercise, and unwind. #WorldEnvironmentDay
How can American Rescue Plan Act Funds be used to support conservation, trails, parks and recreation? An opportunity for counties and municipalities to invest in critical infrastructure and make the outdoor economy part of their COVID-19 recovery plan.
Across Pennsylvania we are seeing growing understanding and interest in planting trees as a natural solution to many issues including for climate resilience, improving water and air quality, reducing flooding, and the impact forests and trees have in improving human health.
REMINDER: Growing Greener Plus grant applications are due in less than a month (June 25th)! The program has $18 million available for local governments and nonprofit organizations in need of watershed funding. Check out the guidelines here https://bit.ly/3bUOL7W

A movement is emerging in Pennsylvania to secure more wildlife corridors, especially by connecting core tracts of public forests and ecosystems with each other.
DCNR announces funding to provide a kayak launch and fishing platforms, and help restore a portion of Codorus Creek in the City of York. This 1.4-mile greenway ...project will create several new public access points to the creek, recreate and re-vegetate the banks of the creek, and create a series of multi-use trails connecting residents and visitors to the creek and to other parts of the city.
