The boardwalk section of the Upper Bucks Rail Trail is now under construction. The trail is NOT open yet, so don't try to use it, that will only hinder the on-going construction work. But, check out the photos of the progress. The goal is to have the trail open in mid- to late fall. Check back here for updates.

The American Trails organization recently conducted a "shovel ready" trail project survey across the United States. Two Highlands Trail projects in Bucks and Montgomery Counties were included in the survey. Shovel-ready trail projects are projects that, if funding is available and working conditions are safe, could be providing jobs by the summer of 2021. Read more about the survey and view the national map below. https://www.americantrails.org/shovel-ready-trail-projects
Work on the Upper Bucks Rail Trail continues to move along between Coopersburg and Quakertown. The boardwalk section in Springfield Township still needs to be completed, but it is hoped the trail will open in the fall. This will be a 3 mile section of the Highlands Trail route.
