I am a parent of a student who does Karate at Pal Che Tang Soo Do. I volunteer my time to help Nick out at the studio in any way I can, in the office with new students, cleaning, etc. I was approached by The owner & Chief Instructor of Lititz Martial Art Brennan, who happens to be a good friend of Nick as well as myself. Brennan wanted to help support & save our doors from closing. With Covid it has put a damper on finances. We the parents & instructors will try our best to ...help save the studio. PLEASE I am asking for any help to keep our lights on in the studio. Pal Che Tang Soo Do has been in business for 30 years & we would like to see another 30 more years. We had a surprise visit from Master Ron Raver last night. He was the Founder and prior owner of our school when it opened in 1990. He observed all of the classes, commented on the proficiency of Forms (Hyung) done in class, quizzed students on the meaning of the flags, and gave them a small history lesson on our Studio (Dojang) and the Association (Hyup Hoi). #PalCheAllDay #TangSoo

Merry Christmas!

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a student was training, not even a roundhouse; The nunchucks were hung by the dummies with ...care, In hopes that Sah Bum Nim soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of flag sparring danced in their heads; And mamma in her dobahk, and I in my own, Had just settled ourselves for some training in town, When out in the dojang there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my home to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, And threw a flying side kick and landed with a crash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below, When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But footprints in the snow, and an imposing figure so near, With a little twinkle in the eye, dobahk pressed and trimmed, I knew in a moment it must be Sah Bum Nim. Holding a yup chagki, high above the head was the foot, And any attempts of trying to attack would be moot; A bundle of weapons was flung on the back, And you wondered how so many could fit without a rack. The eyeshow they burned! And the smile, how scary! They remind you that for class you do not want to tarry! My droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow For Sah Bum Nim had looked as if to strike another blow; The stump of a jan gum was held tightly in teeth, And the smoke it encircled our heads like a wreath; Then a kihap so loud it made me tighten my belly, The dojang shook with the echoes, like a bowlful of jelly. I became weak and plump, like a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when the kihap ended, in spite of myself; Closing my eyes and with a bow of my head, Sah Bum Nim let me know I had nothing to dread; Not a word was spoken, but went straight to work, And kicked all the paddings; then turned with a jerk, And laying a fist across the breast, And giving a bow to Kwan Jang Nim above who rests; With a loud Tang Soo!, Sah Bum Nim gave a sign, That class was now completed, and left me behind, But then I heard a shout, and it warmed my heart with cheer, "Happy Christmas to all, see you in the dojang next year."
