Not only will the Hovis Auto & Truck Weekly Series Championship see a 36% increase in the point fund from past seasons and an increased point fund for the second year of the Wedge Motorsports "Route 7 Rumble" Series, but now the Series is proud to announce a new "Loyalty Program" presented by new marketing partner Waterstone Mortgage of Hermitage. One lucky RUSH Modified racer will win a complete race ready Chevrolet Performance 602 Sportsman Modified crate engine package (carb-to-pan) valued at $8,000+ from Pace Performance; this will be the most valuable product to ever be given away in the history of the RUSH Racing Series! True to its name, the "Loyalty Program" presented by Waterstone Mortgage of Hermitage will reward loyalty. In order to be eligible for the engine giveaway, drivers must be a RUSH member and cannot compete in a non-RUSH sanctioned Sportsman Modified event the same night as a contested RUSH-sanctioned event throughout the 2021 season. Eligible drivers competing in 25-49% of total completed RUSH events will receive one chance for the engine giveaway; eligible drivers competing in 50-74% of total completed RUSH events will receive four chances; eligible drivers competing in 75-99% of total completed RUSH events will receive eight chances; and any eligible drivers that compete in 100% of the total completed RUSH events will receive 10 chances! "We're always looking to be creative and keep things fresh by offering new programs to those that support us," expressed RUSH Director Vicki Emig. "The 2021 season will mark year number eight for the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds and will be the biggest yet. With the Hovis Weekly Series Championship point fund increasing for the second time, the Wedge Motorsports 'Route 7 Rumble' Series increasing, the traditional Manufacturers Night that just saw well over $15,000 of valuable product distributed, and now the addition of the 'Loyalty Program' will make 2021 an exciting year." The engine package will be drawn at the season finale on October 16 at Lernerville Speedway's "Steel City Stampede" by a Waterstone Mortgage representative. This will mark the first time since 2015 that an engine has been given away, and never a complete race ready (carb to pan) engine, which is valued at over $8,000! During the inaugural 2014 season, Jeremy Zufall won the engine giveaway presented by Sweeney/Pace, while current RUSH Sportsman Modified racer Kole Holden was the lucky recipient in 2015. Since its inception in 2014, the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series powered by Can Am has had one mission according to Series Promoter, Shaun Hooks, To strengthe...n and improve the division in the Western PA, Eastern OH area. We set out with two goals in mind, to unify rules at area speedways and to run a series of good paying races at a variety of speedways to crown a true regional champion for the class. I believe both of those goals have been realized. Hooks continued, The time has come for us to step up our game. We will accomplish this with a two-step format in 2021. He explained, We have been in contact with area speedways that we have had a relationship in the past, asking them to sanction their weekly programs with us. Any track that commits to the Series will adopt our rules (if they haven’t already done so) and have their drivers, who are Series members, earn points for any pro stock division programs that they run. The hope is that this will encourage teams to support weekly racing at all area speedways and continue to build the pro stock class. After a total of 15 races is reached, Series’ members’ worse finishes will be dropped. The Penn Ohio Champion will be crowned and point monies will be paid based on the best 15 finishes that Series’ teams can accumulate at any participating tracks. Hooks concluded, The response we have received has been overwhelmingly positive; not only have most speedways committed to the program, we have been contacted by speedways outside our traditional area as well. If you are a pro stock team owner, check with your track and encourage their participation if they have not yet committed to the program. Step two is something I think our teams and supporting tracks will be very excited about, Hooks exclaimed, We are going to do a limited number of events referred to as our Penn Ohio PSX (Pro Stock Xtreme) Series. These races will pay a minimum of $3,500 to win and will be spaced out throughout the summer. Tentatively participating tracks include but are not limited to: The New Stateline Speedway, Busti, NY; Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Imperial, PA; Sharon Speedway, Hartford, OH; Hummingbird Speedway, Reynoldsville, PA; Lernerville Speedway, Sarver, PA; Thunder Mountain Speedway, Brookville, PA; Tri City Speedway, Franklin, PA; Latrobe Speedway, Latrobe, PA. Last year was very challenging across the country and certainly for racing in general, said Series Director, Deanna Hooks, It was no different for our Series. We have always had a strong base of marketing partners that believe in what we are doing as much as we do. Because of their continued support, the support of local speedways, our race teams and Series officials, we were able to make 2020 a successful season. She continued, Although we had to cancel our banquet because of COVID concerns, all point monies were paid in full and the checks were recently mailed out. I’m glad 2020 is behind us, but I’m also proud of what our team accomplished in what was a very stressful year. I look forward to this next chapter in the Series growth. Series officials will continue to work with tracks to finalize details for the 2021 season and establish the point system to be utilized by the Series for the weekly point chase. Series membership information will be available after the first of the year. I took over 1300 pictures last night but these are my favorite by far. I have only known Doug Clark for a few months but in that time he made me feel welcome an...d he made me feel safe. He told me he would always watch my back and I believe him. To say that he has had a huge impact on the PPMS family as a Super Snuffer, is an understatement. He deserves the endless summers that Florida will bring but he will be sorely missed. If you ever decide you miss the cold Pennsylvania air on your face, make sure to come say hi, Doug.
