Thurman getting schooled on the pneumatic gun today. Knowledge transfer among the crew is vital. It’s easier and quicker in the short run to do something yourself yet again, but you stay stuck with the responsibility. We are all guilty of this and I’m no different. The challenge is making the time to elevate those around you so you can accomplish more in the long run. In our case, it’s doesn’t matter if I sell a client on our 100-year history and depth of experience in this field if the crew members on site don’t act on that organizational knowledge. We need to deliver what we promise and we do. #demolitionman #since1920 #buildersbestfriend #QuickSafeNeat @ Havertown, Pennsylvania

We would typically set-up scaffold and plank-in to the garage roof for this load-out scenario, but I liked the guys’ solution of the plywood ricochet. Saved us time, a crew member who would’ve otherwise stood on the scaffold to relay cans, and most importantly, demonstrated that we will always go with the best idea and make our production decisions from a place of logic above hierarchy. The two things I appreciate most any given day in this line of work: A client complementing our crew, or an employee suggesting a smart tactic. #doneinaday #demolitionman #buildersbestfriend #QuickSafeNeat #design #remodel

This weekend, staying home felt like the right move with regard to health and safety. By tonight, getting out felt like the right move. And the vibe was healthy. Peaceful. We walked with everyone for awhile, through the streets of Fishtown. The preacher leading the protest wanted to counter the vigilante message from last night. It was upbeat and positive. And we dispersed as curfew fell, with helicopters overhead and Philadelphia police peacefully and silently encouraging the movement homeward. The preacher’s best line of the night, again to counter the message sent previously, They stole our ancestors, who helped build this nation. We’ll walk where we want to. @ Fishtown

A Toolbox Talk for Our Times No time for coffee today. I was hopeful that our base of operations, which is appropriately situated in a multiracial community, and which has been set on fire before, was still in one secure piece. It was. I saw one of my guys when I pulled up. He was on top of things, even more than usual, and we were ready to roll. The entire ride back to the city, I kept considering the words I wanted to share with my staff before we got into our work t...oday. I knew they had an emotional weekend too... . .
