Audition Announcement! TALLEY'S FOLLY, A romantic comedy by Lanford Wilson The play takes place in 1944 in Lebanon, Missouri where Matt Friedman, an accountant from St. Louis, comes to plead his love to Sally Talley. Sally’s family doesn’t approve of Matt and she refuses his proposal of marriage. Throughout the course of the play Matt and Sally gradually find a way to come together.... This Valentine’s Day, the Pennsylvania Playhouse wants YOU to Play a Part and Share a Heart. There are many beautiful, different types of love to celebrate and we’re going to do so for 14 days! Leading up to the 14th, we will be featuring performances on our social media pages showcasing unique acts that depict what love is to you. Love for yourself, a significant other, partner, family member, friend, pet, hobby and more! Outside of songs, we are also looking for different t...ypes of performances. Dance, poetry, stand up, monologue, and anything you can think of are welcome. Be creative! For your audition, please treat your submission as the final performance to be featured. To submit, please fill out this form which will prompt you to submit a file of your performance. Congratulations to everyone on the annual ABE awards! And a special congrats to Brian Keller, from Biloxi Blues for Best Actor in a Play!! Jack Miller’s Eugene may have been the emotional heart of the play, but it was Brian Keller’s unforgettable turn as hard-drinking platoon leader Sergeant Toomey who drove the play. Keller was terrifying as the over-the-top, non-compromising, hard-nosed sergeant and his intimidation of the recruits was complete. Even when, in a drunken stupor, he was revealed to be at the end of his rope, he was somehow still in charge.

We Cain’t wait for you to join us on 11/14 and 11/15 for SILVER & GOLD- a cabaret celebrating Broadway Through the Ages, featuring songs from The Golden Age in Act 1. Often, musicals are adapted from plays, and plot lines and characters are followed closely. Sometimes, however, it ain’t so much a question of what to do and a character may be added or altered to better fit a vision.

There’s going to be a bright golden haze on the Playhouse on 11/14 and 11/15! Rodgers and Hammerstein are heavily credited for the revolution known as The Golden Age, where musical theatre found a new form. Showcasing the complete synthesis of music, libretto, lyrics, dancing and staging, this period saw musicals begin to have structure and a dramatic build previously only seen in a non-musical play.
