"That is why the work that we do with young children is so important. Just as hatred is taught, so is kindness, love, fairness, and justice."
Go forth under the open sky, and list to Nature's teachings. ~ William C. Bryant Pandemic silver lining: More time outdoors!
Happy New Year! As 2021 gets underway, we are renewed in our commitment to face the months ahead. We are grateful for the responses to our calls for help. Your outpouring of support and generosity very literally keeps PIC here for the families and staff who rely on us. This is such a strong community of friends and families. We thank you.
We may have looked different in 2020--temp-taking, mask-wearing, more cleaning, but we face the new year prepared for what lies ahead. We can't do it alone. Now more than ever, we need to call upon our community for help. Please give to our Annual Fund: https://parentinfantcenter.networkforgood.com/projects/71079
As virtual learning in Philadelphia continues, we need your help. Your gift to PIC will give a school-age child the loving support they need to succeed. You will ensure that PIC teachers get the paycheck they rely on, You will provide relief to families who do not have the ability to support their children at home. Please give to our Annual Fund: https://parentinfantcenter.networkforgood.com//proje/71079.
Here's HOPE...At PIC, friends reflect upon their similarities and celebrate their difference. They look at eye color and the many shades of their skin. They read books where they see themselves represented. In each classroom, children build friendships, learn respect, and are guided through peaceful conflict resolution. In each self portrait, we nurture self love. We find HOPE in the many shades of PIC. Ask yourself today "where do I find hope?" Let us know below!

It's Sand Day! The day we have sand delivered to replenish our sand boxes! A LOT of sand and A LOT of work! Next week we bring back center-wide Pajama Day! It's comforting to hang on to some traditions amid so much change.
You can register online to vote until Monday, October 19, 2020. It’s safe. It’s easy. It’s so important! #vote2020
Save the Date! ArtStart is a virtual event this year and will feature our teachers, families, friends, and classrooms. Tickets will go on sale soon!
The deadline for the census is currently October 31, though litigation is still pending. We need everyone counted to make sure Philadelphia has the federal & state money to take care of all its people, and we have the representation in government to make it happen. Start here: https://2020census.gov/en.html Pass it on. #makeeverychildcount
Logged in and ready to go...The School Day Support Program at PIC was created to help working families and children during this VERY different school year. We help get them to class, and most importantly we get them OUTSIDE!
Although it took a health crisis, the US investment in Child Care is poised for change. PLEASE VOTE for kids on November 3. #everyvotecounts
If this health crisis doesn’t underscore that Teachers are the real superheroes in this world, what will it take? Grateful for the work all teachers do!
The census significantly impacts Philadelphia and its communities. A complete and accurate count is vital! #CountAllKids Visit: https://2020census.gov/en.html

The school year is almost here and there is so much families still need to know. Here's our big news! We've made big changes to School Age Programs this September. Take a look at our new full-day program options for kindergartners, 1st and 2nd graders. We accept public subsidy and are accepting applications for financial assistance.
