Yesterday in worship as we celebrated Pentecost, we recognized the ways the Holy Spirit refreshes and renews our faith. Each person wrote a way the Spirit was leading them to respond to the worship service on a flame. Those flames now surround the sanctuary and will serve as reminders of the Spirit's presence and our commitment to God as we worship over the next few weeks. Over the next month, we will be reading through the Book of Acts to see how the Holy Spirit was active in the early church and how the Spirit might guide our church today.

Tomorrow is Pentecost, the birthday of the church! The first Pentecost was filled with imagery that is hard for us to understand. Tongues as of fire? A sound like the rush of a violent wind? What could this mean? Worship with us as we gather in our Sanctuary and online at 8:45 and 11am for a service that will refresh and renew our faith in the power of the Spirit. The connection guide with links and announcements is in the comments below.

"Here comes the sun, do, dun, do, do..." Okay, not really. We know it's gloomy outside and we can't promise that the sun is going to shine this weekend. But we can promise that God's presence will be with us as we worship! See you Sunday at 8:45 or 11am in the Sanctuary or online at ParisECO.net/Online at 11am or On Demand! Let us worship God.

Kids at this year's Trunk or Treat were given copies of this prayer to accompany their pumpkin carving/decorating. Why not make this prayer part of your pumpkin carving tradition?

What a joy it is to know that God put together all the pieces that make us who we are. Assured of our value and worth, we can then open ourselves up to God, flaws and all, so that God can lead us in his way.
