'Til We Meet Again, Nancy Offner! Today we send off our dear friend and colleague, Nancy Offner, as she retires from Parry PT Group. Nancy has worked for Dr. Jack Parry for 13 years as a top physical therapist and, most recently, as Operations and Clinical Director of the company. Nancy also worked for a period of time with our sister company, Industry Health Solutions, and was instrumental in that company's successful expansion. Through the years, Nancy's outstanding skills as a therapist have helped thousands of members of our community live healthier, pain-free lives. In compliance with government regulations, staff and patients will be required to wear a mask while in therapy. Upon your arrival to therapy, we will ask you confidential COVID screening questions and take your temporal temperature. Although we are working with a reduced staff, we remain adequately available to see both our current patients... and new patients with critical or post-operative needs. If you call for an appointment or question and we don’t answer, we promise to return your phone call by the end of the day. As we continue to better understand how COVID-19 affects our community, Parry Physical Therapy Group has implemented the following health precautions: * All staff will be screened prior to entering the clinic daily (temperature and symptom screening) * All patients will be screened prior to each visit. Should our clinician identify any risk, the appointment will be rescheduled. * All patients must wash their hands upon entering the building. All patients must wear a mask or face covering to their appointment, in accordance with CDC guidelines. If you do not have one, we will supply one for you. * Each physical therapist will only schedule 1 in-clinic patient per hour. * Each physical therapist will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while treating patients * All equipment, common areas, entry and exit doors, and access areas will be sanitized after each contact * Any patient over the age of 65, or those with a compromised immune system or other high-risk ailments, will be encouraged to speak with their physician and physical therapist for proper guidance as to whether it is recommended to attend in-clinic therapy or postpone treatment to a later date * Patient waiting areas will have chairs separated to maintain social distancing * All therapeutic areas will be continually sanitized before, during, and after each patient’s use * As additional information becomes available, we will take appropriate action to continue to protect the health and welfare of all of our patients. Congratulations to Allison and Brian Ward on the birth of baby Emma Catherine! Emma was born on February 23, 2020 and weighed 7 lbs, 5 oz. This sweet bundle of joy is the daughter of our PTA, Allison, and the first grandbaby of Jack and Karen Parry! Welcome to the Parry Physical Therapy Group family, Emma Catherine!

It's getting cold out there! Does the cold weather aggravate your neck pain? A few basic tips: Keep your neck warm...wear a scarf or high neck to keep your neck warm and decrease the shiver response to cold. The shiver response is a normal response to cold where your muscles quiver to create energy and warmth. But do you hunch your shoulders up, push your head forward and down, and wrap your arms in front of you to try to keep warm? This causes the muscles in your neck and... shoulders to tighten up and get stiff and can cause pain if you have a neck problem. Maintain a good posture...when you feel yourself hunching up into the "keep me warm posture" make yourself relax your shoulders down and back and bring your head back to a comfortable position where your ears are over your shoulders, not in front of your shoulders. Keep warm, but make sure bulk isn't too much...bulky coats, especially with bulky hoods, can "push" you into that forward head posture. Also, if your coat is too heavy for you and pulls down on your shoulders, your shoulder and neck muscles are working to help keep it on. If you have a history of neck pain, this extra weight and work of the muscles can aggravate your pain. So when looking for a coat, consider if it is comfortable and if it allows you to stay warm but not put strain on your neck.

PARRY PT GROUP TEES UP FOR KIDS! Our company was a master sponsor for the 2019 North Penn YMCA Golf Classic for Kids. This tournament is held annually as a fundraiser to support charitable services and programs for the youth of our community. Programs supported include childcare, summer camp, and swim lessons. Parry PT Group is always proud to support the YMCA!
